Ride/Park Accidents

An image has been released/leaked in less reputable parts of the web of the facial injuries to the woman hit by the coaster in Australia a few weeks back. Properly horrific, the bottom half of her face is pretty much not there any more. Don't mess around in ride areas kids.

Anti-rollbacks can and have failed in the past if they are not the correct specification. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the claim out of hand

Agreed, that is the one "whatabout" to the debunk. But the whole story becomes questionable when you look at the ride system in photos. It would be completely impossible for it to go under water because it's only inches from the bottom of the trough anyway.

I think it’s like people that have a restraint that’s a little on the loose side and they are like “OMG!!!! I nearly fell out and had to hold myself in”.

These people probably had the the shock of rolling backwards in to the water and getting a little splash of water on their heads and it’s like “OMG!!!! The boat went backwards under the water and we pinned in and could have drowned!!!!”

Poor lad, not cool that the park are blaming him too - at least so publicly at this early stage.

That is the most extreme ride of the type I have ever seen. There is the engineer part of my brain that can't understand how it happened but I am not at all familiar with the model type.

Is the failed lock the one between your legs? I'd guess so. It appears as if he's gone under the restraint.

India - 5 injured falling from ferris wheel, one burnt as they hit power line on the way down.
For some reason my Instagram feed is always full of fairground clips from India. I must have watched one and now that is all that it recommends. But most feature fairs with numerous ferris wheels rotating at insane speeds with no safety whatsoever. Most fairs only seem to have three rides, wheels, pirate ships and knockoff break dances, but duplicated many times.
