Drayton Manor Park

Personally, I’d imagine that the indoor coaster at Alton Towers is more likely to be Intamin than whatever Drayton Manor is getting.

It's quite clear the guy knows nothing more than what we know but is making a load of terrible clickbait videos
I wouldn’t be so sure… he has proven reliable in the past. For instance, he reported the Nemesis retrack a good year before it was announced, and he was also reasonably on the money when he said about Sub-Terra reopening a good few months ago seeing as considerable work is now taking place on that ride.

With this in mind, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s well connected within Alton Towers in particular.

I'm going to leave the video up on this occasion as there's been a fair bit of posts since, but can we please use a bit of common sense when posting videos?

We don't allow "I know something you don't know" posts from our members when posting, so we don't welcome such videos being posted either. So let's get back to the stuff we do know or that people are willing to say on record.

If we can stick to Drayton Manor discussion in this topic, rather than starting to inch into Towers discussion too - thanks :)

So the guy reads online forums? I'm not seeing information that wasn't on forums.
If I’m remembering correctly, the forum posts about the Nemesis retrack began in the first place due to a video he posted…

On an on topic note, though, I’d be surprised if Drayton Manor’s new coaster was an Intamin. I’m not sure why, and I could 100% be wrong, but I don’t see them going for Intamin.

If the Shockwave train replacement is going ahead - could this be done by intamin whilst they work on a new coaster for them?

Could a Shockwave train replacement be the “top-secret project” that the Managing Director was referring to?

I will genuinely be disappointed if the potential new Shockwave train is sit-down. The layout isn't that interesting, but the standing position makes it more so. It would be boring as a sit-down in my opinion.
This is what I understand from other rides that have been converted from a stand up to sit down, except perhaps Rougarou.

Well the thing you've got to remember about shockwave is although it is similar to the B&M standups it isn't a B&M standup like the other's that have been converted. It's an Intamin sub-contracted to Givanola (where B&M previously worked). Intamin never made that sort of track themselves. If they wanted a new train, either sitdown or standup (Possibly new surf coaster trains?) they they would probably best go to B&M, it's just whether they can justify the high price B&M would likely charge for the job.

Sorry but I hate the "I know something you don't know/I've got one up on you but I won't say what it is" behaviour. Either say what it is or literally just keep it to yourself. Really grinds my gears.

It is about time Drayton got another coaster so I'm intrigued to see what it will be. Parks definitely heading the right way after a tough few years from 2017.

The only choice is probably to just keep it to themselves. They are probably under an NDA so can't divulge anything anyway.

The last time it was done to me nicely was by a certain Mr Hine, who knew about the Big One, but was sworn to secrecy!
From our conversation I thought it was about Camelot!

Drayton would do well to get a Vekoma launch, give it a few years then bin Jormungandr and replace it with a SFC going out over the lake.
Vekoma do like there multi-coaster deals, it seems they must offer them at a farily reasonable price. If Drayton get a vekoma in 2024 I wouldn't be surprised to see another one not long after.
