However, I must admit that I'd be hesitant to say that that meets the constraint of "No Inversions". It does look to me as though both track and riders invert in there. As there's so little time to go until the submission deadline and I appreciate that changes aren't feasible at such short notice, I'm willing to let it slide, but for future reference, I'm hesitant to say that the ride follows all of the given constraints.

My apologies @Poisson; I've been preparing the Weekly Digest, and I think I must have gone into autopilot and shut the voting form when I started preparing it at 9pm or 10pm! I'll go and reopen it now...

Do bear in mind, however, that I may have to shut it slightly before the 11:59pm mark in order to have the Weekly Digest prepared in time for 12am. For future reference, that also applies in other weeks.

To make this clearer in other weeks and avoid a similar situation happening again, I may set a new voting and building deadline of Friday at 11:45pm so that I can have 15 minutes to prepare the Weekly Digest without any last-minute submissions or votes coming through. Now that we've covered Round 4 voting, I think it's about time that I revealed the next round...
Round 5 Building
Seeing as we've now completed Round 4, I think we need a new round to sink our teeth into, so it's time for me to reveal the Round 5 brief! The Round 5 brief is... Stampida Reloaded at PortAventura! The context for this round is as follows:

With the recent opening of Uncharted, PortAventura added a much-needed family thrill coaster to its lineup. This took the strain away from the only other existing family thrill coaster at the park, Stampida. So given the ride's ailing state and long-criticised roughness, the park have decided to remove it in its current form and build a new duelling coaster; a revival of Stampida, if you will. They've also hired none other than you to design it. The park have said that the ride must maintain that all-important duelling element of Stampida to keep its spirit alive, and with Shambhala and Red Force already serving PortAventura World pretty well as big, tall rides, they've also said that the Stampida revival shouldn't be too tall either. But other than that, the sky's the limit! How will you revive Stampida at PortAventura?

The constraints for the round are as follows:

• Maximum Footprint 561ft*436ft/171m*133m
• Maximum Height 200ft/61m
• Must be Duelling, Racing or Quasi Mobius/Self-Duelling

For some additional context, here's the area of PortAventura we'll be working with (it's circled in black and labelled "Stampida"):

To apply the footprint constraints, I would recommend using the Scenario Editor to make yourself a park template that allows you to enforce the constraints.

However, if you find yourself unable to do this, I have created a Steam Workshop park template with the footprint constraints pre-imposed, which you can download here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3134368908

For console users, I would recommend setting out the footprint constraints using wall pieces or path pieces to build yourself an "area" to work within. Path and wall pieces are typically 4m in length, for reference. I know it's not ideal, but it's unfortunately the best I can recommend given that neither Scenario Editor nor Steam Workshop are available on console... sorry for the inconvenience, folks.

Please measure your coaster's height using Terrain Relative height markers in build mode (this is the setting labelled with a mountain).

To submit, please build your submission, film a POV and off-ride shots of it, and post the video(s) in this thread. You can briefly describe your ride if you wish. YouTube is the website I'd recommend for uploading videos to, as this would integrate best with the Google Form when it comes to voting, but if you want to upload your video(s) using a different method, then that's also fine. If you have any issues with recording or uploading your video(s), please don't hesitate to contact me. I will try my best to assist you.

May I once again emphasise that this is a coaster layout building contest. By all means add some light theming and landscaping if you wish, but the coaster layout should ideally be the focus. Quality of coaster layout is pretty much the be all and end all here; heavy theming won't gain you any points, and no theming won't lose you any points.

The submission deadline for Round 5 is Friday 19th January 2024 at 11:45pm. If you struggle for time and would like me to extend the deadline, please PM me or request an extension in this thread before the deadline. If you do not make contact with me and ask for an extension, I will assume that you simply do not want to compete in this round and move on after the posted deadline.

We have a Launched New Gen GIB (I wish, Intamin Impulse used here) as the main intense thrill coaster, with a Vekoma SFC and a Vekoma Mine Train to support. This would also allow PA's abysmal Diablo - Tren De La Mina to be scrapped and opens up a new site there for further rides.





Multiple duelling places for 2 coasters including something like the excellent face off the current ride has plus the 3 coaster duel at the start. Time for some POVs

I build way too many RMC's on this game so I've settled on a duelling GCI. Basically a modernised Stampida with more airtime. Didn't want to go too far over 100ft as taller woodies tend to be more uncomfortable to ride, and I've kept the famous opposite-fly-by-thingy.
