2024: General Discussion

The late night days coincide with the ridiculously early Easter holidays plus opening day. I'm presuming Easter weekend will also be a MAP blackout date so that could be utterly dead late on.

The parks could do with more flexibility hour wise but it isn't the easiest thing to do with the staff.

Not sure why Towers have never bothered building on-site accommodation for staff, rather than sending them to Leek.
 
One of the best decisions regarding opening hours in recent years!
I thinks this totally makes sense- especially for opening weekend. I remember when Wickerman officially opened and I think when Smiler reopened and they were running both rides past ride closure in the dark to clear the queuelines.
I expect some periods of downtime with nemmy rebo on opening day with it being a new ride and likely being ram packed! 🥶

Pack your warm clothes though it’s likely to be freezing!

Wickers. Whizza. Smiley. Eeta. Teeny. Runners MT. Crapids (though Rubber Dingy Rapids is obviously acceptable). Glactic. Octos. Big H. GG. Altungeon. Marrys (or Spinny Cups). Batty Gs.
 
Just 2 words though so it needs a completely unnecessary acronym to accompany it's nickname to be fully compliant with strange Thoosie naming conventions. If we just call it 'Nemesis' then there's a danger that outsiders might actually know what we're all talking about.

So I propose we use the syllables to create NMSRB?

I’m honestly honoured. I swear I may have already seen it on the dedicated Nemesis topic but happy to take credit.

If Alton Towers decide to make official nemmy rebo merch I’ll take my payment in the form car park tokens thank you very much.
 
That's settled then. The new entry's into the unofficial Thoosie dictionary are as follows:

Official Title: 'Nemesis Reborn'
What normal people will refer to it as: 'Nemesis'
Affectionate Thoosie title: 'Nemmy Rebo'
Super Geek acronym: 'NMSRB'
Red Top newspaper and lazy journalist title: 'The Nemesis Ride'

Literally just beat me to it😂 posted the same thing in the Wicker Man thread! Great news, thing are moving in the right direction now they’ve had chance to get their teeth into the place more.
 
She also liked a comment on her post about cleaning the Marmaliser… could mean nothing though as she seems to like every comment on her posts
