How Busy?

We’ve booked to go on Saturday 30th for the Alton after Dark event. My head tells me it’ll be super busy being Easter weekend but my heart couldn’t miss out on Nemesis in the dark so early in the season.

Please someone tell me it’ll be surprisingly quiet 😂

With the late close it probably will be busy, it is currently the second most expensive date (behind the 23rd) now they're doing surge pricing.

Thursday this week looking busy? I know schools in the Midlands are off but the schools near me in London aren't, so not sure how busy those sorts of days get...

Easter in general is a hard one to judge this year. With it falling early for the first time in quite a while and school holidays being a little more scattered than usual it's a hard one to say for certain.

As others have mentioned in the topic, demand based pricing is now a thing at Towers, so the website reveals a fair bit. Tickets for Thursday are higher than all other weekdays this week - only £2 more, but it's still higher than even Good Friday and the same price as Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. So looking likely it'll be pretty busy.

Fair enough - booked in now so not much to be done! Thanks Craig

anyone got an idea how busy it might be on the 21st of may? schools finish on the 24th but the park starts doing 17:00 closes on that week

Went on Thursday (25/4) and for a change it was actually really quiet! Landed a day without too many school trips, for a change. Made a video as I was going along to record the quietness. Video also features my new favourite keyring and a few clips of the area they're clearing up for Project Ocean. Video is here if you want a look at how quiet it was :)👍

I miss those days. So rare now. My early season solo midweek visit used to be a staple when I had a pass and more time on my hands. Every year someone would post "park is dead" on here when it really wasn't, not knowing that a few seasons ago it was pretty much like your video on every term time week day. I've lapped Rita front row 5 times in a 20 minute period before, and had to wait 5 minutes at the Oblivion air gates for another guest to arrive, otherwise a member of staff offered to ride with me.

Although I've never liked 10-4 opening times, at least a few years ago you could get 30 rides, lunch, and a stroll around the gardens done. Completely unjustifiable now. Queues regularly rack up 15-30 mins on 6 hour days.

Absolutely. It's the quietest day I've had there for a few years at least now. You need to get lucky with a lack of school trips coaches now, whereas before, as you say, pretty much any traditional term time day was blissful.
