Future Flat Ride Speculation

Intamin's is 1.3m which is better than the line up in Forbidden Valley anyway.

I personally think a Disko Coaster may be a clever addition to the Blade pit in my opinion.

Preferably the standard Disko, not the "coaster" model. The standard rides are better in terms of experience.

Something to market for March to July and then for the busiest period of the year.

Events should then take care of Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec

Jan/Feb for small/indoor and non ride attractions (events/shows/water park/mini golf/VIP tours/sharkbait reef/towers tours/garden tours etc)

March covered by whatever opens for the season, Easter/hols covers April, May/June filled with schools, July/August summer hols, September quiet but too late to really market something for before the busyness of Scarefest and Fireworks. I don't see the business case for opening something else same season.

Whilst I agree on the completeness view. That’s surely down to the rest of the park being relatively poor?

A blade replacement - family at - and a galactica retheme / spruce up would complete it.

Agree the “phalanxification” of Galactica, and a family ride of some sort, is needed to finish the area.

It would leave them with 2 coasters, 2 flat rides (1 family 1 thrill) and an indoor ride.

I think a thrill/family thrill indoor ride and flat ride is a decent template for most areas.

X Sector/Forbidden Valley - Thrill
Gloomy Wood/Dark Forest - Family Thrill
Mutiny Bay/Katanga Canyon/Walliams World Replacement - Family
CBeebies - Children

I’m sure a more considered analysis into the availability of rides by height/type etc could and should be completed but long term planning should be at the heart of what they’re doing, there’s no excuses when you know rides have a 25 year plus life span.

Regarding the idea of a new Enterprise model back in X-Sector, either the classic or newer 2G model more likely the latter, I can't remember who did it at the time when Smiler was getting built, someone on here had a genius idea of the whole structure have a giant spiral wheel to act as a giant hypnosis machine which off ride would really be something entertaining to watch and themes itself for the area.

Yes, we already have that on Smiler but at the same time it would help give more energy to that area and honestly would be quite unique for an Enterprise having that on it as what Toxy is for being different for being up on a tall platform.

Come to think of it, I wonder if Toxy might be setting a standard that given how well liked it has become that this might make Merlin attempt to give all future flat rides some USP to make them stand out being different like that iffy quote about Toxy being the tallest Top Spin model.

You know what I find odd, given they've removed Blade, and clearly taken some effort to clear the pit...

Why have they left Blade's foundations in situ and made no attempt to disguise the fact that they are there? You could just about understand if they'd vanished under a large mound of earth, or wrapped in some Merlin Signature Camo net. But no, just sat there in the pit, like a swinging ship has just been unscrewed and taken away.

Regarding flats other than stuff from Huss, am I the only who feels that an Intamin Twin Hammer would be a great ride to have in say on the Submission site?

Would be similar to Submission but would be different enough and likely a better and very rare ride to have in which IIRC only two are in the world.
The Intamin twin Hammer is a maintaince nightmare, both models intamin have sold haven’t lasted long and since been closed. By all accounts the model at warner brothers Aus spent more time closed than open.

An Enterprise/Endeavour on an angle platform (like Samurai) could be a fantastic addition for a park.

I do wonder why Huss haven't got any Enterprise 2Gs yet though 🤔

I think it's partly because the Endeavour model has come out from Zamperla offering a possibly cheaper and simpler model compared to the more traditional Huss models which has seen American parks favour the Zamperla models. I don't think we've seen too many American parks go for Huss in recent years.

Outside of a Disko (non hump model) or a Rockin' Tug (which they not only have but the Zierer is also arguably better) I wouldn't bother with Zamperla.

A Disko may suit towers, could easily fit in multiple locations and is cheap and also can fill about 600pph. I wouldn’t complain if a well themed one was put in Dark Forest for example

I'm a bit late, but regarding the whole "non-enthusiasts just see Toxicator as Ripsaw" thing...
In my experience, to most "normals", there are only two non-coaster rides : If it's not a "pirate ship", it's a "waltzer". Literally every ride ever built is either one or the other to them.

Ride that spins or ride that swings is just about the long and short of it!

It was me a very long time ago, I can't find the original image as it was on my Photobucket account that's now deactivated, But I did remake it for you in photoshop.Hypnotise.jpg

Love if they did this for a returning Enterprise type ride, certainly would be eye catching in more ways than one though I am curious if it is possible to attach such a large structure to an Enterprise model as if the weight of it (depending what it's made from) might compromise the ride weakening it over time?

Nonetheless it would really suit X-Sector though I'm certain we won't be seeing a flat ride or two in that area until X-Sector receives a refresh or new theme but who knows.

I hope they’re not just going to think Toxicator is enough for flats, if they do the junior coaster in 26 and horizon in 27 then we might not see another one for at least 3 years, unless they’re planning on putting one in alongside the junior coaster

2025 - Toxicator

2026 - Cbeebies Coaster

2027 - Horizon

2028 - Nothing - Most likely be just a tidy up year

2029 - New flat ride for X Sector

2030/31 - David Walliams overhaul - New family area

I think the park has proven they’re capable of doing more than one significant capital project at the same time, at the same time that Nemesis was being retracked they bought Sub-Terra back into operation, and at the same time as doing Toxicator they were spending millions and millions on Hex and the Skyride, so I don’t think we can rule it out.

Also, they’ll know that a new CBeebies coaster doesn’t really appeal to the masses, and wouldn’t be enough to see a significant buzz and boost to the numbers for next year.

I’m hopeful.

I don't think anyone's doubting they can build multiple new attractions at one time. I think it's more down to a huge new coaster, potentially in 2027, which the funds will be put towards.

Nemmy was a one off. It was technically a new ride but obviously most will see it as a re-track. I very much doubt we will see anything on that scale again for a very long time at the park.

Chessington are doing flat rides at the same time as coasters with Jumanji and Minecraft which it is not impossible for it to be happening as part of Horizon or in the run up.

With Minecraft, it's supposedly very similar to Project Horizon which I'd say it could very well be supported by flats of some form.
