Paultons Park: General Discussion

Someone there mentioned it looked like a turntable could feature so i think we have confirmation this will be the UK's first Mack Stryker! Launches, lower height restriction, lower ride construction, previous working relationship on StormChaser, all the signs are there.

Maybe.
Out of interest, what makes you think that a turntable automatically means a Mack Stryker? There are other types of ride with a turntable.

In my head, something like Voltron also seems like it would be a bit more intense than Paultons would want, with a 1.3m height restriction and supposedly very high intensity, but then again, Fantasiana, a relatively small park in Austria, is also building one, so who knows? I certainly wouldn’t complain if Paultons did build a Mack Stryker!

I was being silly, I don’t actually think it will be that :)

Would be a real coup though!

And the suggested interactions presumably rule out a GCI so you never know, might be method in my madness.

Whatever they have in store I'm sure it's going to be great. The teaser video from last year clearly implies it will have an inversion so this will no doubt become their go to coaster / main attraction for older guests.

Curious to see what happens with the rest of the area too. Cobra must surely be getting a new name and retheme I'd imagine too over the winter.

I think pretty much nothing is out of the question. I bet back in 2017 nobody would have predicted that Plopsaland would get RTH, but here we are.

Absolutely. The only major manufacturer I'm confident we can rule out is B&M. I would be seriously shocked if they went that route. They tend to take up a lot of space and they aren't cheap to build either.

Lots of options:

- A small scale RMC
- Mack Launch or Stryker
- Vekoma - any of their recent models they have brought to market
- Intimin LSM Launch
- Intamin Hot Racer

I'm sure we're in for a treat whatever they go with. I guess as soon as Ghostly Manor is open too we will start to find out more.

Is a single rail coaster out of the question?
I don't think it's been ruled out but chances are, it's not likely to be a single rail due to the ride's capacity and it most likely being the headliner, I anticipate a higher capacity rollercoaster being built instead.

I don't anything is out of the question for Paultons Park at this stage for intensity and thrills.

I wouldn't complain if we got a Mack Stryker although I think we may be comparing any potential coaster with Voltron which is a unique showcase coaster designed to sell the model and it's capabilities.

If they did get a Stryker, it may not be to quite the same scale as Voltron. It'd likely be different.

I don't think Paultons are necessarily going to limit themselves on how thrilling a ride is based on their reputation as it's clear they're looking to grow beyond that.

I think the idea of ruling out thrill rides solely on the basis that it's Paultons Park is a thing of the past.

I don't think we can categorically rule out B&M either as Daemon at Tivoli Gardens is very compact. I believe the site currently is slightly bigger than Daemon.

It's more likely to be from a different manufacturer but there's a slim chance of it being B&M.

Not 100% no but I'd say it's very very unlikely to be B&M.

Daemon is getting on a bit now too and isn't something they have really replicated either at other parks. I think probably for good reason too.

I well themed family thrill GCI would be a perfect fit for me. Fits the Viking theme, would be the parks first custom ride, wouldn’t cost the earth, can look visually impressive, a new type of coaster for the South of the UK and could be considered the first “thrill” coaster of the park.

I think most would agree Wickerman has been a great success despite its limitations. I see no reason why Paultons could match or better that. A GCI with a planned interacting water coaster in the future would be just what the doctor ordered.

The teaser video clearly had a Paultons Park Logo rotating implying this new ride is going to include at least one inversion.

I think that pretty much rules of GCI myself.
