Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

I've just returned from a visit to Japan and at Fuji Q, there are signs by the teacups showing that dogs are allowed on the ride and the ferris wheel too!
Thats.... horrifying. I know Japan doesn't share the same views on animal cruelty as we do, but my god!

Avalanche lift hill sounded like a bag of spanners today it sounded like a problem with the anti rollbacks
Visited on Saturday and noted the noise. Whilst I don't particularly tend to visit at peak periods, especially on Saturdays, it was good to see the park busy. Having a season pass meant it was a fairly relaxed visit, however I wouldn't have fancied paying the gate price for a single visit of the year. Most coaster queues were topping an hour.

I do not doubt you, but can you point them out, as they are not obvious? It could be the case that by the time the attraction was refurbished, there were only 4 in operation, due to many breaking over the years and never getting repaired. Very plausible given the extreme wetness and dampness in the building. If this was the case, it would make their statement of there only being 4 cameras correct.

Okay, using this 2019 video as guide:

These cameras were added at some stage between 2014 and 2019 - you can see in this older POV from 2014, the additional cameras highlighted above are not present:

From memory, I'd say they were added around 2017.

Had this email from Pleasure Beach today which is pretty sad;

____

"Dear Season Pass holder,

We have been made aware that a small number of people have been abusing the Season Pass system.

From tomorrow (Friday 15th August), all Season Pass holders will be directed to a dedicated Season Pass queue at the Noah’s Ark entrance, where they will undergo a quick verification check.

When Season Passes are purchased, they are subject to our terms and conditions. If these terms and conditions are broken then we may take further action.

We know this only applies to a small minority of people, and we really appreciate your co-operation in allowing us to combat this.

Thank you in advance for your understanding."

---

Surely if they think people are doing this they'd be able to check from records.

Really should just go back to ride wristbands.

Would have thought it would be infinitely more effective to start doing this without telling people first...

With the current system, there's no easy answer. Sure they can check at the park entrance, but I don't think it really solves the problem of what happens next, especially now they've got walkaround tickets and Nick land only. Printing an 'eticket' must add problem too.

Half baked, like a lot of their ideas.

Whilst I'm in this thread, I understand last week's 'Ibiza VIBES' thing didn't actually go ahead. The dog day did though, and predictably, saw the opening of the new patch of greenery. They have erected 6 or 7 picnic tables, for the picnics you can't bring in.

I've just mentioned last week's Friday event didn't happen, but now this week and next week have been cancelled as well. Should you wish to pay an extortionate rate for a few hours, you'll have to wait until the 29th.

Suppose they think putting that email out will make people who have been doing it not even chance it anymore.

Really need the scanners at the park entrance to show your photo, I remember the sealife in London did that back in 2011.

In Canada and America every time I used my Six Flags pass my picture came up on the screen, even when I was just using it to get 10% off some merch.

For those interested in the new season pass arrangements:
The leftmost queue for entrance security is signposted for season pass holders. You then see a member of staff at the wide gate to the left of the turnstiles.

I arrived late today so I can't comment on the exact arrangements, but my ticket was looked at manually, not scanned. I can imagine this would be chaotic at opening time, as it relies on one security lane and one person at the gate
