Planet Coaster 2: General Discussion

Also, in this update is an option to randomly rotate and scale scenery objects as you place them. No more placing trees or rocks and individually rotating them to make them look more natural!

Excellent news for the lazy of us.

Good to see them adding the previous themes for free on the updates.

I haven't had too much time to play the game with work / family commitments sadly but starting without a Western Theme was a bit of an own goal really. It's a staple of a theme park.

Spooky and Sci-fi surely will return too in future updates.

Why use ChatGPT when ElToroRyan has the perfect definition of a Block Zone. It's become his slogan, you can even get it on a T-Shirt:

I recommend his video on Stealth. I never realised it runs a shifting block system until that video.

Jeremy Paxman:

“So what’s your specialist subject Ryan?”
“Block Zones Jeremy”

I love the game but feel the console version is way too restrictive. You cant build a decent sized detailed park unless you play on PC.
I would argue that's a limitation with the game's design. The fact that you have to hack/glitch it, or find inventive workarounds, in order to create the immersion of a real park (even on PC) is a design flaw.

Its mostly down to the limits Frontier have to adhere to in order to keep the game playable on the consoles without reducing game/console performance. Whether that is purposely low until the game has reached the end of it's update cycle or its just bad/ programming on their part remains to be seen.

On the PC version they did increase part limits earlier this year and increase max guest numbers in parks so unless they are maxed out on limits on console there is no reason why they can't do the same on the console version later on.

So the next DLC pack is the Sorcery Pack. I'm getting Harry Potter and Alton Towers VIBES from the trailer! Comes complete with a Hagrids style coaster, flying theatre and Intamin Blitz complete with switch tracks and swing launches.

Looks like the best pack so far to me. :)

Not a straight up spooky pack as people were expecting but more a cross over of spooky and sorcery it seems. Im sure the HP recreators on the game will be pleased.

The new ride additions will be popular too im sure.

Still waiting for the Dinosaurs though. I think a Dino pack or even a collaboration with Jurassic World at some point would be amazing.

Yeah it's got my interest in the game again!

I think they've got it right with the spooky/sorcery levels; if it was a spooky pack, people would complain its just a copy from PC1 so they should've given it for free, but this is "magical" enough to make it different.

The flying theatre was a surprise for me, this must mean a Madhouse is on the way, surely. Especially as you can attach scenery to rides, its a no-brainer!

I doubt there'd be a proper tie in with JWE3, if not a licence issue, the games are quite different in looks; JWE3 is less "cartoony" so wouldn't work very well together. But a prehistoric "Ug Land" theme would work well I think. The old Ug Land vibe would be perfect for PC2.

After all the updates that have brought the game up to what I was personally expecting for the initial release, as well as the reveal of this pack; I think I'm ready to pick it up now. Next sale I will most likely be purchasing the game.

I meant like they did with Ghostbusters in Planco1 rather than a tie in with a current video game. I'd prefer a generic Dinosaur pack myself anyway. I don't like recreating existing rides but instead create my own after being influenced by real attractions.
