Don't think that is true I had a visit Towers this year and they were rolling trains on various coasters particularly on Rita. Th13teen and Wickerman.Thorpe have a much stronger commitment to getting trains out quickly than Alton Towers

From my own observations it is most definitely true. I think you need a larger sample size of data.Don't think that is true I had a visit Towers this year and they were rolling trains on various coasters particularly on Rita. Th13teen and Wickerman.

Obviously depends on the time of day and the actual day you visit but I have definitely seen on numerous occasions over the years hosts running (or at least borderline jogging - running probably not allowed!) up and down the Wickerman train fully opening restraints after guests have got off and then checking them once guests are in the train. When I last visited in August the Swarm team appeared to be going for a record-breaking number of dispatches per hour and the Ninferno crew were literally running down the platform checking restraints. I've never seen anything like that at Towers.

From my personal experiences, I don’t think Alton are necessarily any slower than Thorpe.
On my most recent visit in July, Thirteen was absolutely flying, with an average dispatch interval of under a minute and some individual dispatches being as quick as 50s. Smiler was also doing really well, hitting almost 900pph on occasion. Wicker Man also did well, and Nemesis and Galactica were both memorably pretty prompt. The staff members on Nemesis were making a real effort to chivvy people along.
The park can be pretty fast, from my experiences!

Poor ride operations on nemesis yesterday. No ride op sending people to the gates. Resulted in the gates being empty as they opened. Ride ops shouting across very rude and messages across the tanoy. Sending trains outs not filled on a very busy day with long queues. Is it normal not to have A ride operator at the bottom of the ramp these days on this ride. They had them on every other ride in the park. Standing on the other side of the track shouting and blaming customers for not self loading and policing this instead of just taking charge and having someone load up the station.

I'm sure it wasn't intentional to have no member of staff batching on one of their busiest days of the season so far. Probably more likely down to staff shortages due to sickness or something.Poor ride operations on nemesis yesterday. No ride op sending people to the gates. I’m sure it wasn’t! But that doesn’t mean you then start shouting at paying customers broadcasting it over the tannoy blaming them for long queues just as they are about to get on! It kills the atmosphere just at the point your should be excited and happy to be getting on!

Busy day today! Smiler currently on 115mins and still no batcher on Nemesis so lots of trains going with empty seats. Nearly offered to chip in myself if they’d give me some magic money. Massive queues for the loos as well- at times like this think they really need to do a Thorpe and build some new toilet blocks.
Definitely the start of main half term week for most kids!
Edit: just seen Fiona Eastwood outside Amigos. Wonder is she fancies the currently 85 min Wickerman queue!

The big boss showing up at one of the peakiest of peak times is a positive.
All to often these things are choreographed so the head honchos only see things when the crowds are lower and the infrastructure isn’t stretched to its max.
At least she can see how things really cope (or don’t, as the case may be).

Think she’d just been in Amigos with some other big bosses! Wonder if she sang the Barry the Worm song. The big boss showing up at one of the peakiest of peak times is a positive.

Really great to see as it’s by no means a quiet day- not much down time which is good.
I hope one day the Dungeons building does get used for a new ride.Think she’d just been in Amigos with some other big bosses! Wonder if she sang the Barry the Worm song.

Also do we even know if the boat ride is actually still in there or whether it has been removed fully
I think the basic troughs are still in place from a BTS photo dump.I hope one day the Dungeons building does get used for a new ride.

It is hard to tell if its operations, lack of rides or too many people in.All rides open! Which is a good job with these queues…![]()
Because when you looks at the filler rides and family ride queues they are normally substantially quieter
