Lightwater Valley

I think they should open up the hall of mirrors lol,

But seriously they will have to install some permanant hardware unlike what they are actually use too. Id not be surprised if we saw something by Vekoma due to them having maintained these coasters at FI

I will say Mellors have added some permanent rides to Fantasy Island so it is something they have done before.

Harrington Flints and Guardian.

Hoping Lightwater Valley gets a Dark Ride

What put the park on the map wasn't the ultimate, it was the rat.

They need to stick the wild river rapids in the rat/raptor attack warehouse. Job done!

Be interesting to see if they continue down the family market route or if they do start to introduce thrill rides again.
It'll be completely based on the portfolio. It's likely thrill centric, but they have a decent amount of family rides amongst their stock.

Looking at Spinning Racer, it seems like they're going to diversify to some degree.

How much they will diversify will be seen in the coming months

I am predicting that Mellors will add in more thrill rides to balance the line up and potentially also have a line up of rides to rotate between the fair circuit and Fantasy Island.

I'm also predicting a number of fairground classics will be heading to the park such as Dodgems, Waltzers, Twisters and even potentially a Reverchon flume

Lightwater Valley also has a line up of aging rides so I can imagine quite a few of the family rides will be retired in the coming months/years. I'll predict a number of those children's roundabout rides from Modern Products will be the first ones to go.

Harrington Flint and Guardian were purchased from the defunct Hub Zero entertainment centre in Dubai.

Flint was a fantastic addition to Fantasy Island but I’d say Guardian was less so, it’s throughput is painful and it’s the kind of ride that would make more sense at a pay per ride venue.

Have Mellors actually purchased any brand new rides for Fantasy Island since they bought the park in 2016? If they haven’t then I’m not too sure that they’ll be changing their strategy for LWV. Perhaps some opportunistic pickups from the Middle East market could be something they look at again. Perhaps a proper drop tower or star flyer might be the kind of thing we could see at the park.

They did bring back G-Force for 2 seasons and Snow Drift was a brand new ride at Fantasy Island in house built

I don't think it will take 'new' rides to turn LWV round, just connected thinking, building the village and use of their portfolio of rides strategically.

It's probably easier than Fantasy Island too because a lot of the cost there will relate to legacy rides like the Odyssey. I think if anyone was going to buy a park with the potential to take it much further than it is now and make more money in the process, you could really do a lot worse than LWV.

Any chance the ex-American Adventure Runaway Train might be repatriated for LWV?
I would doubt it in the short term, possibly if things are going well.

They do seem to have made a slight revision to the logo for their Christmas message which looks better than the godawful one they currently have.

I would say that it is possible but at the same time, the park won't need too many family coaster additions.

If any coasters are getting added in addition to Spinning Racer, I'm thinking it might be one of the looping coasters. I could be absolutely wrong.

The old park South Sabahiya Park Spinning Racer was previously at had an Ultra Twister this is a what if that was still in storage and Lightwater Valley got a Togo Ultra Twister would that work well at Lightwater Valley would be one of a kind in Europe.

This a what if scenario question

It’s barely a sentence, let alone a question.

I don’t think Lightwater are terribly likely to import a Togo Ultra Twister.

The ones that remain are likely so old that the cost of them outweighs their value. For the cost of importing one from Japan, you could probably build a way newer ride or at very least build a relocated ride that would be newer and take less effort to import and construct!

The AA Mine Train and Schwarzkopf are operational, much more likely to bring a ride that works than a dumped TOGO. We only have 2 operational TOGOs in Europe and I can't imagine they're easy to keep going. One is pretty good, the other is utter rubbish.

Yeah, I believe it also depends on what Mellors owns

The Schwarzkopf is owned by Mellors, travels and would be a fantastic shout.
Mellors appear to have bought a Vekoma MK1200 at one point which operates in Kuwait. That is also a possible shout but I feel the Schwarzkopf is more realistic:

I doubt there will be any other coasters in year one, but think they might move another one in our if season, when it would otherwise be stored. Think they are very likely to bring in a range of flats to do the heavy lifting initially but suspect their big push will be flexing between seasonal times like Easter and Halloween and peak summer.

They don't need to overdo it initially, just be sustainable and have a plan.
