Scarefest 2015

anybody got any idea if you still get fast track tickets for selected rides if you stay at the hotel during scarefest? I seem to remember them a few years back but have stayed elsewhere for the past couple of years

Bit more work going on today, this time on the bridge.

You certainly did last year during Scarefest and fireworks. It was or fastrack for each ride but only from 10-11am. So a bit like ERT, except on all rides.

I'm sure they'll carry it on this year, they've offered Fastrack tickets for hotel guests every season for Scarefest, doubt that will change this year.

Not sure if it's been mentioned in here (it's being reported as new information on social media), the minimum age for the mazes has been increased to 15+.

TowersTimes are suggesting it will be 'heavily enforced' too.

If they are going to enforce that then they have to advertise it better. The only way to see about this age limit is to go to book tickets and then click to read more information on the booking screen. This givies you a description of each maze and then at the very bottom says it "Please be aware, you must be at least 15 to enter our Scare Mazes.".

They are going to catch a lot of people out with this if they do strictly enforce it. I do hope full refunds will be offered to those who did not find the warning.

:)

In the past, if you are under 14 you tend to need an adult there and it is explained by staff that its not really suitable. I have seen kids as young as 10 in the mazes with their parents,

I've found when you get kids going through the mazes the actors tone it down a bit. So I'd be all for an enforced age restriction, so the mazes can be what they're advertised as. The mazes can be very inconsistent, which is wrong when you're paying for it on top of what you've paid for your day in the park.

Although it's not exactly something you can enforce. What happens if a 17/18 year old with a baby face tries to get in? You could also get a 12 year old getting in who looks 16. It's not like you could ID guests, and even just asking them for their D.O.B, people will just lie, like we all do as kids in the cinema wanting to see a 15 film. If they do enforce it I cannot see any method working well. If they do try enforcing it I give it two days till they go back to the usual relaxed rules.

They can ask and tell the actors not to tone it down for anyone as they said they were old enough then it doesn't affect anyone else's experience

So what 10 year olds are going on all 3 mazes

None. I express: the minimum age for the mazes has been increased to 15+.

I'm very much looking forward to how they do THOMC briefing area in terms of theming, as I presume that'll be taking The Sanctuary's previous layout. It's looking like a good event, I am just hoping they have enough actors to make the mazes as full on as previous years with a variety of actors present in the mazes, because it's all good having refreshing & new mazes etc, but the real question would be if they have enough staff the increase in attractions without affecting their ability to scare people various times. I'm sure they have it covered anyway.

Does anyone have any idea how they will check your age? I don't think I'm going to bring a passport or anything :p. I'd guess that they will just ask your date of birth, but that's easy to lie about.

i asked them and they said if you dont look 15 you can go in

I'd expect people to use a form of ID. It just filters out the people who don't have it as not many people under 15 have identification, so that gets rid of the 12 year olds
