Scarefest 2016

I would imagine it will be a quiet day, maybe busier later in the evening. But can't see many normal visitors going on a random Monday. I guess the Saturday and Sunday before will be busy.

Most schools in the local area are back then, Derbyshire definetely is. It will probably be quiet in the day and pick up later

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but the shipping containers for sub species are back:

Only one ending this year though, hopefully it's different to last year (chainsaws won't have the same shock element if it's repeated despite being one of my favourite moments last year)

Chainsaws may not have the same shock element but they would still make you get the hell out of there! Hopefully just the one ending means that even more will be going on in there.

:)

Chainsaws is a bit textbook for a scare attraction, although for most people it works as a quick scare/shock, and will make most people leg it out! You're not going to get a lot of guests that have already experienced the maze.

Anyone know how the new walkway from the hotels to back of Galactica work for Scarefest? Will hotel guests be able to enter the park this way at night? Or will it be exit only?

Someday, I would love to see a maze that uses the original Haunted House soundtrack.

Oh wait I forgot. This is Merlin. They don't want anything that's silly, that will ruin the horror. Everything's got to be serious. SERIOUS!

I know it's not a great map, but does this confirm that freak show is going to occupy the space where carnival was (or that general area depending on the type of maze)? Completely useless map, but a slight improvement on some years. Only two weeks to wait :p

I wish they'd do something with Galactica for Scarefest really...

Surely they create some sort of Halloween/scary VR concept that's season specific? Even if it incorporated Nemesis into it just to give the whole area some cohesion given Dark Apocalypse is set there too.

From that I'd say it looks like it will be in the x sector, possibly at the entrance, but I can't be sure

It will be located on the path between the hospitality suite (tent next to Spinball) to where the HB Leisure stall are at the end. So it will basically be adjacent to where Scary Tales was the other year.

So is it the same type of scare zone as dark apocalypse then? Probably already been said but I must of missed it. And that's actually quite a big area considering DA is only between sub terra and the gun.

Couple of updates from towers regarding the new mazes. First, towers have relese adverts for skin snatchers and house of monsters:

Secondly, I've just seen this on the towersstreet scarefest page (not sure if it's from towers, but that last sentence is getting me excited for scarefest regardless of where it's from):

-PRESS RELEASE- ALTONVILLE MINE TOURS TO REPOPEN

Altonville Mine are delighted to announce that their popular tour service is due to reopen in time for the 2016 Halloween season. The operators would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during their unexpected closure.

We would like to take the opportunity to stress that our recent closure was due to unexpected technical difficulties and contrary to what customers may have read had nothing to do with the so-called 'skin snatchers'. If you would like more information regarding the local legend of The Skin Snatchers please do ask one of our tour guides, who can lift the mask on this urban myth.

We hope that by reopening this season our tours can help revitalise the local tourist economy after recent unfortunate occurrences at the Altonville Motel, not to mention the 'farm incident' of some years ago.

-ENDS-

4 days :D
