Serious questions and musings
Photo proof of young Diogo, Kelpie and our uni friends not being 'fine' with it - along with hundreds of thousands of others. Also, look up the Andrew Gilligan incident - BBC staff have never forgiven the govt for the forced resignation of Greg Dyke (the then Director General). Dyke's...- Kelpie

Eurovision Sweepstake 2023!!
Oh go on, put my name down! luckily we managed to palm off the former Eurovision loser prizes of lychee liqueur and the cinnamon gold flecked vodka some years ago (a shot of which had to be drunk in front of everyone) we do still have a bottle of Royal Wedding ale from 1981 kicking about in the...- Kelpie

40th Anniversary 2020 - ideas
Johns right, laws of pressure apply. :P But it is true that stretches of the Wolverhampton flights of locks (not a staircase!) have been opened and drained the canal on a semi-regular basis. Such as this time...- Kelpie

Major Operational Changes for 2018
^^ THIS Alton Towers is supposed to be the UK's flagship theme park?!?! I'm sorry, but it's simply not good enough. Staggered opening between 10am and 11am *might* be swallowable if the closing time wasn't such a joke. The short number of hours the park is open is the main reason it simply...- Kelpie

Major Operational Changes for 2018
Trouble is, we can say 'don't buy a MAP' but unfortunately many will because their interest doesn't lie with visiting Alton Towers. They aren't considering the park at all when they choose to purchase. Eg those that live in the south with families, they can go to Chessington, Legoland, all the...- Kelpie

Manhattan Express at New York New York getting VR
Half the point is to enjoy the view you get of the hotels and strip, and the interior section racing over Central Park/NY streets - a VR headset just seems an utterly pointless thing to add. Though generally I can say that for most coaster's retro-fitted with VR. Oh and unable to see to brace...- Kelpie

Anything Radioactive Topic
Interesting documentary on BBC Four last night about the construction of the new dome over Chernobyl. 'Inside Chernobyl's Mega Tomb' if anyone wants to check it out. Hadn't realised they now plan to dismantle the reactor. I thought they were simply intending to continue containing it.- Kelpie

2018: Wicker Man - Pre-Opening Discussion
This is all very fresnelling! It's important to open our irises up to the importance of audio/visual elements to the theming of a ride. Let's not view bad lighting choices of the past through Rosco 342 tinted lenses. ;)- Kelpie

Drayton Manor Park - Splash Canyon Incident
If they were going to bring up past incidents at other parks at all then they should have mentioned M&D's as most recent UK incident, or Australia if going for ride type. The only commonality this and Smiler share is the county the parks are located in. It's not the same kind of ride involved...- Kelpie

Drayton Manor Park - Splash Canyon Incident
It could be a case of less 'standing being silly' and more (as we've all done) shifting to duck a wave and perhaps very unluckily losing balance, tripping, falling... All H&S is a balance of need to reduce risk without significant negative impact to the operation of the ride - yes, some kind...- Kelpie
