The marmaliser screens are never off. During off season, you can see them flashing from the fields behind the park.

All speculation aside, that would make sense. The one ride it completed Monday last week resulted in the train stuck on the brakes for 45 minutes.

Smiler's issue is just terrible timing. If it is, say, down a month (not saying it will be), that wouldn't have been the end of the world back in May or whenever. During Scarefest though? Nightmare for Towers as it's probably their most popular ride down during their busiest period.

I think three, four or five day downtime periods are to be expected considering the major issues with supplies right now. Nemesis, Rita, Th13teen and Wicker Man have all had occasions where they've been down for a few days, so what's happening with Smiler right now is nothing new. My feeling is...

Had a fantastic day on park today (and yesterday). Queues great (on the whole).

Already open again. It was obviously just a minor technical fault this time.

It could do. It was closed a lot over summer last year but did reopen just before Scarefest for the last few weeks of last season. It had this season, up until it closed about a month ago, been more reliable than in previous seasons. It was due its annual downtime.

Smiler far better for me. The layout is more interesting, it's more fun to ride, and I've never found it remotely rough. Having said that, I certainly don't hate Colossus either.

It's rumoured. There has never actually been any confirmation of it at all.

This has always been a busy period. Lots of families go at the very end of the summer to make their kids feel better about going back to school.
