Oakwood is cheap admittedly, but I wouldn't say it's good value. The ratio of pounds spent on entry fee to decent rides is far worse than the likes of AT or Thorpe. I guess that ratio improves for a 10 year old kid who has lower standards and is immune to how naff it is.

What Oakwood needs is to invest money in scrubbing up. In general it's dirty, litter strewn and decrepit. The friendliness of the staff can be hit and miss too with the food vendors in particular being particularly rude.

I've been following the ongoing updates from Oakwood since I heard about the £4million investment with a mixture of firstly genuine interest, quickly followed by amusement and national shame. Oakwood is, after all, "Wales' biggest day out".
