2012: Wodan

I love that! 8pm ride close at EP in the middle of December. Meanwhile at Towers, we get no later than 6pm in the middle of the summer! ;D
 
I know, it seems absurd.

Europa open from 11-8pm at the moment. Towers only opened such lengths or more during scarefest and fireworks last year!

Europa-Park has now closed until March 2013.

The 2012 season has been the parks most successful to date, with 4,500,000 guests.

It brought with it many developments:

Iceland: New Meeting Point in Iceland
Iceland: redesign of the 360 degree cinemas in the Gazprom Hall

Italy: Piccolo Mondo additions
Italy: facade work on Volo-Da-Vinci station
Italy: facade work on Geisterschloss
Italy: redesign of the Euro stage mouse
Italy: Geisterschloss skulls

Austria: overhaul Alpenexpress, station roof
Austria: Partial repainting of Alpenexpress rails
Austria: puppet stage now with a solid foundation

France: New 4D film "The Secret of Balthasar Castle" - the summer version

Greece: New wooden flooring around Poseidon.

Portugal: lowering of water levels in the upper Atlantica lake (avoiding water spraying on WODAN)

Enchanted forest: new umbrellas
Enchanted forest: new viewing platform in the lake

Resort

Bell Rock: new 4-star superior hotel opened in July 2012
El Andaluz: refurbishment work on the facade of the hotel El Andaluz
Tipidorf: New waterproofing and refurbs for tipi tents
Tipidorf: Three covered seating areas around the fireplaces
EP-Express: refurbishment work on the facade of the hotel station

Other

Parking: New park map (both as a folding map, as well as signs in the Park)
Shows: New shows in the park
Rides: digital waiting times (Matterhorn Blitz, bobsled, Eurosat, Silver Star, Blue Fire and WODAN)
Miscellaneous: New staff accommodation near Enchanted Forest.
Miscellaneous: lane control for access to/from motorway and EP.

The park re-opens for 2013 on March 23rd.

A small spending year for Europa then :p

When you list everything that has happened this year, its no wonder Europa Park is second only to Disney in Europe.

I am looking forward to getting back in 2013, so much has changed since I was last there in June 2010, almost feels like it will be a new park.

Dan, you forgot to include that they've begun the gradual refurbishment of Poseidon's boats to be smoother and with individual restraints. :)
