I've also noticed that in the week the outside section of the waterpark is closed and its only open on weekends.

And this is supposed to be a resort?

And yet its no cheaper to go in the week than it is on the weekend........ ridiculous.

Regarding Ripsaw is was completely knackered otherwise they wouldn't have removed it. Replacement? Ride of the same name but more theming and make it more Talocan esque please :) ( But not back to back, that's a bad idea)

Why do they even need to name a slide that small!? :p

You have to call it something, and "drainpipe" is a little easier for people/staff/maintenance to find than Installation/Project 270617 revision 4. They could have also called it Norman, but again its not that descriptive

I just had a quick go on Norman, slipped myself in and just let go.. wheeeee :D

I really wish the waterpark would keep on top of maintenance of the splash zone "toys". There are various levers, buckets, handles, squirty pipes, shooters, broken ropes etc. that have been left out of action for several years.

I appreciate its a comon issue at waterparks in general because the water tends to conflict with reliability, but that doesn't make it reasonable.
Its an expensive attraction to visit as a family; and that premium should be reflected in quality maintenance of these features.

"Drainpipe" is a nice little addition. Nothing special, but not everything has too be.

Regarding Ripsaw and the state of flat rides on the park.
Do we know if there's any plans on replacing Nemesis: Sub Terra or Ripsaw or do they plan on just ignoring the flat ride lineup all together.

I think it's incredibly disappointing for them to not bother, especially given that the thrill lineup of the park is literally just the 6 roller coasters as it stands.

^^

I think with regards the "enthusiasts moan" comment - its not so much that as we do all appreciate improvements being made, whether its a re-paint, or new addition, but.... I think the gripe is that the waterpark initially was designed to accommodate guests from both hotels and used to be exclusive for these guests.

It then opened to the public.

Then Enchanted Village was built and more guests had entitlement to use the waterpark.

Now CBeebies is opening so more people in the waterpark.

In response to this.... waterpark entry prices have gone up to £17.50. The size of the locker room and changing room has not increased. The size of the waterpark has not increased - in fact, when you consider the outdoor section is pretty much closed all week it has actually decreased in size. The majority of the "features" around the park do not work, such as the water cannons for example.

So, to have a little "drain pipe" will no doubt add a little bit of fun for the smaller guests, it wont do anything to address the issues the waterpark has. What Alton should be looking at is expanding its offerings and adding something else outside, and ensuring that the outside section is open to lessen the number of guests crammed in doors and queuing for the 3 slides. After all, Alton are paying to filter and heat the water outside, why not use it!
