2017: General Discussion

Toadstool has been whizzing around in various guises for 30 odd years, I'm not sure if it was new when it arrived at Alton? I don't remember. Could need a lot more than a repaint.
Indeed, it's well known that Toadstool has been somewhat knackered for quite a while now and it does need more than a re-paint for it to operate in the longer term.

But realistically, will replace them with patches of grass, game stalls and fences. That's part of the problem though, it's old. So are Blade and Enterprise. Ideally, the park would replace all of them with new flats.

Mixed feelings for 2017. Glad Hex is back, but sad that Twirling toadstool and Ice Age have gone. What is a 9 year old to do??? (way too old for CBeebies land!!) . And lets be honest, the new ride at CBeebies is just a spaced up version of the flying Jumbos from Chessington, so I hope parents and children alike are not getting too excited!! , can you also imagine the throughput of the hotel walkthrough experience too with lots of impatient kids and pushing. I hope customer services are prepared.
Personally wish N;ST was back too seems weird walking to Nemesis with no activity around there, plus Ive never been on it. What a waste.
Exactly! it was a waste got on it once in what i think was the 2012 season before the smiler opened returned in the 2013 season for the smiler and never got on it due to it being open and closed every hour due to technical issues. would be nice to see it opened again

Seems Scarecon 2017 will be at Alton Towers on June 23rd.
EDIT: There will also be access to a BTS tour of the said scare attraction.
Sounds exciting as it's in the convention centre the attraction open will probably be Freak Show or maybe it will be Sub Species or maybe (but very unlikely) Sub Terra who knows?2017 will be our tenth year and we are really celebrating our birthday with a bang! This year's event will be held at the Alton Towers Convention Centre and will include a dedicated programme of workshops and seminars, our largest ever trade floor, access to one of the park's scare attractions, the ScareBALL costume party, live entertainment, evening meal and entry to the SCAR awards. This really is the event to meet, socialise, network and learn from many of the industry's biggest names.
EDIT: There will also be access to a BTS tour of the said scare attraction.

Altonville was poor in 2016, easily the worst maze
Unless you like constantly entering actors corridors...
Tower Times are reporting that temporary walkways covers have been put up between hotels for guest to access the water park via walking
Also they are reporting that what appears to be temporally flooring, this would seem to suggest that the Monorail could be receiving new evacuation platforms?

Really!? I didn't think so.

Shortest maze, terrible queue music, much less involving and generally lower quality. SS:TEG was the best, should have kept that one.
