Despite Patrick's tweet, I find it difficult to believe (perhaps because I don't want to set myself up for another disappointment) that it'll be that much faster.
Surely the ride's slow speed is to make the already-nauseating Valterian tolerable?
They will adjust the VR film to fit with any speed adjustments, I am sure.

I'm sure, but when we went on Valerian although we both enjoyed it both of us felt pretty nauseous for an hour or so afterwards. I can't imagine a significant speed increase would help! They will adjust the VR film to fit with any speed adjustments, I am sure.

It isn't going to be 'significan't, it'll be a few mph here and there. Enough to make the latter sections at least a little exciting.

Michael Mack has just tweeted the two below images, along with the caption “Going to be great for sure..loving it @europa_park #quality #gettingbetter”.
It will certainly be interesting to hear what people think of the ride when it reopens for the 2019 summer season, and what changes have occurred and their effect on the experience.

Yes, yes, lovely, lovely with the theming. But the real question is...
Are those bloody trims toned down?!
According to Patrick, yes!

Isn't it unofficially–officially confirmed now that this was always the intended theming (or at least, not what debuted last year) but that it was causing structural problems so had to be removed last minute and replaced by a rush job?to me it looks like a huuuge step up from what it was before
Although I dont know that for certain, but it would explain the delay.

Yeah projection effects would be great, but flats and trompe l'oeil are fine and look the same as 3D if lit correctly, in a ride experience like thisrather than more cheap cardboard cut-outs.
Pretty sure the temp scenery it opened with was bodged together in a hurry and not intended
Disney, Universal etc all use flats in indoor coasters like this

How have I only just noticed that good old Madame Freudenreich is a member of ACE (naturally) and there is an eleborate article regarding her!
So she found those dinosaur eggs in Venezuela on one of her many expeditions!
