if a person can't prepare properly for their day out in the sun, that's not Alton's job to fix.
We took 2.5 litres of water with us. The problem is when that was gone, yes you can buy more there and yes, they will refill them but the kiosks are so understaffed with one employee that you’re queuing for 30 minutes at a time in the hot sun with no shade to get it!

That's not my point, it was suggested that Alton should be handing out bottles of water at ride entrances so that Joe Public doesn't have to worry about preparing for the day, this is what I was objecting to.

I suggested that because even though we took water with us, bought more water there and tried to stay in the shade when not in queues, I still ended up in the medical centre. That's not my point, it was suggested that Alton should be handing out bottles of water at ride entrances so that Joe Public doesn't have to worry about preparing for the day, this is what I was objecting to.

They need to staff the place properly, although that’s not news to anyone on here.
‘Hydration stations’ always used to have at least two members of staff but this has been cut down over the years along with staff in every other area of the park. It means the queues move slower.
Back in the day most smaller rides would operate with at least two members of staff. Enterprise, Tea cups, Blade, Toadstools (or probably UG Swinger at the time) would all have two minimum to speed up loading/unloading and pre-batching the next set of guests whilst the ride was in motion. Ah the good olde days.

If they just added more water fountains, it's a one off investment and requires no staff![]()
must learn to read back a few posts

It will cost them money to provide water at ride entrances, lots of it at 20p a bottle, so instead of that, maybe if they put that money into staffing the park properly then the rides would be more efficient, and you wouldn't have to spend hours waiting in the queue line and suffering heat/sun stroke as a result.
I wasn't having a go at your preparation, you clearly went prepared, but some people don't, and offering up free bottle of water at ride entrances will only encourage them more to go to parks ill prepared.

When Wobble World was in operation, if you waited by the toadstool in the far corner at precisely 2:30pm, a small hole would open up, and if you climbed through there was a fully-functional methadone dispensary

I thought that what VIP pass was forThorpe Park have today launched an annual fastrack pass, how long until Towers gets one? £400 each and its pure profit.

And Thorpe version doesn’t even include park entry! So you need another pass just to get inGarda had one a few years back (when Oblivio opened), and having had the misfortune of being on a busy day when it was in use it was horrid...
Least this isn't necessarily affordable, but jesus Merlin know how to part idiots with money...
The problem that I've got with the fast track at the moment, is that it is supposed to be an optional extra for people that want to enhance their visit by spending less time in the queue lines, however this season, it's now become a must have as it's now the only means to fit more than 3 rides in a day

Based on my visits then that is just not true. But then again I have hardly been this season compared to previous years for a variety of different reasons.

I agree, in all my time visiting Towers I have never had any need to buy Fastrack. And this season has been no exception.
I have always managed to get on all the rides I want to. That being said, I only visit term time or Sundays and never during school holidays except for the last 2 summer holidays when it has been generally quiet on a Sunday.

It depends..... and again, this is where I sometimes get frustrated with my visits, as the product offered one day can be totally different to the next.
Usually I tend to try and pick dates when I know the park wont be too busy, and as I visit frequently, its not a big deal if I dont get on everything. On a good day I can get most of the rides done in a day, but all the rides isnt often possible due to the opening hours.
I have also been on peak days in the summer when I have purchased fast track tickets, partly as I didnt want to queue for hours to get on a ride, or perhaps because I was with a person who hadnt been before and I was looking to get them to experience as many rides as possible.
It also depends on ride breakdowns, and of course, closing times. I think if you want to do EVERYTHING in one day and on a weekend, then you would need fast track. If you are staying over and have 2 days in the park, then I dont see fastrack as a necessity.

Getting only 3 rides in was a sarky reference to a lot of the FB/Trip Adviser reviews/compalints
It's possible to get on quiet a few rides if you know how to, but for many, especially non regulars or once a year visitors, they don't seem to be managing that many rides in a day.
I think that @GaryH has really summed up how the visits can be this season. Even though the park can be quiet this season, the queue lines have always felt like you are visiting during the school holidays. With reduce opening times, increase ride down time and through put, something has to give
