They missed the bit about trying to get as much of that as they can.

Is there even a source to suggest this figure? Feels like it was just a random number thought up on the spot
Some not so clever marketing from Alton Towers...

I wish he was in charge. There is no top business man that I trust more than to deliver quality and value and put his customers first.Since when did Wetherspoons' very own Tim Martin gain a position within Towers' marketing team?

It's Government spin, based on back of a fag packet calculations and completely unverifiable, so yeah basically, a random number thought up on the spot.
More important things to think about.
Hmmm... I'd go Steel Vengeance if I were you!Quite.
Which coaster to do first when I get to Cedar Point this summer....
Very good point! The closed season is absolutely flying by; I'm so excited for the start of the 2019 season! Although the fact that I'm flying to Florida just over 2 weeks later might partially contribute to that...Guys this marketing campaign rly doesn't matter. More important things to think about. Exactly 2 months time and the 2019 season will have started!
Nothing to do with the government, Alton Towers commissioned the poll/research.
"Earlier this month, we conducted a nationwide poll which shows that families..."

Well..... If they don't improve the product or add more attractions the great British public won't be spending this money at alton towers or any other merlin attraction. They are not total mugs. 2018 was a good year for alton towers and I imagine it's merlins most visited attraction for 2018. Why? Wickerman an all round good addition to the park. I imagine the new dungeons will create a bit of interest but a reopened n:st would have really added some excitement! They missed the bit about trying to get as much of that as they can.

When are thorpe park going to follow suit with an announcement about DBGT a similar white elephant if not worse! Oh ........ but it's near London we don't want to upset the folks in the south east. Who cares about those up north!Alton Towers have confirmed on Twitter that Sub Terra won't reopen this year.
