Not sure if this is the correct place to ask but do you guys know when the buses start running to towers? Seeing no timetables yet and I'm wondering if its a normal thing for buses to begin running right as the open season begins or not.

The last couple of years the bus from Stoke has only run from the last week in May until early September and then again on selected Scarefest and Fireworks dates.

There aren’t any buses from Uttoxeter anymore. Not sure about the Derby bus, I think it generally runs from the start of the season but it’s only Mon-Fri and doesn’t arrive until 11am.

Edit: the Nottingham and Derby bus runs from Mon 25th March - https://www.nottsderby.co.uk/app/download/30268478/SERVICE+X52.pdf

No that's not Barry Island Pleasure Park, that's the Ripsaw site at Alton Towers, the UK's leading theme park.

MAGICAL

Saying that I'm offended by this is an understatement. Jesus wept get a flat ride in there already.

Navigating through the waterfalls of disappointment and despair more like.

In all seriousness, I can't see them turning them back on until at least the H&S investigation is finished. They will not want to take any risks no matter how small after The Smiler a few years back. Understandable they are very cautious as that incident was very damaging to the business.

Was the Drayton incident even related to water effects though? If not, then again Alton Towers have drawn attention to something that was not a problem in the first place, like the debate around putting back the Smiler audio.

But if Alton Towers had an existing problem with people regularly standing up in the waterfalls, that makes more sense to stop it until a better solution could be found. But I don't think they are interested in finding a better solution, I think theyd rather cut the water effects permanently because it's the easiest option. All those kinds of decisions is what amounts to a lacklustre park
