Well they don't show you that view on the adverts do they?I am loving the look at Rulantica and very much looking forward to giving it a try next month.
Not sure on this view which I assume is from the rooms in the hotel? Looks a bit errm, Merlin.
Maybe there is some more theming to come to hide the building?

Well they don't show you that view on the adverts do they?I don't know who posted that PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park photo a few pages back but I think you need to re look at it again and tell me which one looks better, because I'd take a Caribbean island over an industrial estate any day

I know right?!
Stunning!

Can't really compare the theming of an indoor waterpark from the rear of the waterpark though can you? The outdoor attractions are on the complete opposite side of that photo too. It's like buying something from Amazon and chucking it away because you don't like the cardboard box it came in.
In any case, the theming surrounding Rulantica at ground level looks great, the inside is looking fantastic too. The view in the picture above is from the rooms on the very top floor of Krønasår. I'm not a fan of the view myself, but that's a Krønasår issue not a Rulantica issue. I'm guessing they had to compromise between making the building frontages too large they block out light and too small they don't block enough of the plant on the roof.

I may be wrong but isn't that the Main Entrance to the Waterpark. And yes @Danny that still looks better. Can't really compare the theming of an indoor waterpark from the rear of the waterpark though can you? The main entrance to the waterpark on the ground level yes, not from the 5th/6th floor of the hotel - you can't compare what day visitors to Rulantica would see from an aerial vantage point. From ground level you can't see most (if not all) of that stuff on the roof due to the themed frontages. The "front" of the waterpark I was talking about was from inside, where the glass front and the outdoor rapids/pool would presumably be the focal point from in there.

And yes @Danny that still looks better.

That's fair enough, but can we agree that from the 5th floor it looks bloody awful. The main entrance to the waterpark on the ground level yes, not from the 5th/6th floor of the hotel - you can't compare what day visitors to Rulantica would see from an aerial vantage point. For example, you have Splash Landings as a Waterpark hotel but you can't see any behind the scenes areas from your room. I think this should have been designed a bit better.

As I said I'm not a fan of it either, but this is a Rulantica topic and we're critiquing the waterpark not Krønasår

Ahem I'm not complaining about Kronasar I'm complaining about the tin shed across the road so you're not getting out of that one that easily. As I said I'm not a fan of it either, but this is a Rulantica topic and we're critiquing the waterpark not Krønasår. For guests at Rulantica, the theming looking great.
Really they could have done with having the glass side facing the hotel instead of the arse end.

Again, from ground level having visited it looks great. You see the building facades which are authentic to the theme of the whole area. That is what the vast majority of guests (especially Rulantica guests) will see. The picture is taken from height, so the unthemed elements look a lot closer to those facades than it actually is. It's no different to other theme parks having unthemed buildings set back from view for most.
My criticism comes from guests on the higher floors of Krønasår looking over the waterpark - so not related to the Rulantica guest experience. As I've said, if they built those facades any higher, then I'd imagine you'd start to block out light into Krønasår and the terrace areas below, it'd look far too dark and imposing.
I wouldn't have liked the glass front on this side to be honest either, it'd spoil the theme of the area around the lake.

Sure, it doesn't look great from height. But as Craig says, only some hotel guests are going to get that view. The vast majority of guests to Rulantica are never going to be in a hotel room on one of the top floors of Krønasår facing Rulantica.
Flipping Rulantica around would not work either. That would mean that guests would need to walk around the entire outside of the Rulantica from the car parks to get to the main entrance, and there would be little to no space for expansion of the outdoor area. We already know that there is huge scope of expansion with the existing plans.

Pretty sure they're not going to build on top of the buildingFor all we know, they have left it plain because they plan on adding something in the near future.

Given the personal family pride associated with all projects at EP - this one, being the most expensive private investment project in Germany right now... I would imagine they will be well aware that the view of Rulantica from the top floors of Kronasar is not good enough.
Hopefully it can be improved in time.
