Here’s a nice little time lapse of the construction and delivery of Scandinavia’s new (very shiny!) shark:
Scandinavia officially opens today, and Europa-Park have put together this lovely little video: The music used must be IMAscore, it sounds very Toverland Magic Valley! Looks like Snorri Touren will be a screen enhanced dark ride.
Thomas Mack shared a few inaugural opening ceremony photos. Michael Mack has also shared a Snorri Touren teaser!
Good to see that they've gone all out with the opening, although I'd expect nothing less! It also looks like the flags of the various Scandinavian countries are back up in the area; it's only a small detail but it pleases me greatly. As for that Snorri Touren trailer, how adoreable!
Oh, and it turns out EPFans.info recorded the whole inauguration too, featuring DOCTOR Roland Mack. (What a good day to be coincidentally off work.)
Not sure if it is just for today's press conference, but there is a Pirates construction site viewing area: It's coming along nicely!
It has been confirmed that Snorri Touren will open for the start of the winter season on 23rd November 2019:
Whilst it’s still technically autumn, it’s kind of a late autumn opening. Not that EP ever tend to open any attraction earlier than planned. Very close to Rulantica’s planned opening as well. I’m looking forward to riding this in the winter though. EP’s dark rides, which until recently weren’t their strongest quality, are certainly seeing some attention. In three years, we’ll have had Voletarium, Madame’s Dodgy Dinosaurs, Snorri and Pirates (could even count Can Can as well). I feel like with this focus, by 2020 the dark ride line-up will actually be pretty respectable
I think this will be a permanent addition. The ride duration will be 4.5 minutes, much longer than i expected.
Unsure if this is news or not, but Snorri Touren is announced to open on 23rd November! Here's some more concept art too... again, unless it's already been posted. Spoiler'd for the dark ride fanboys of this site. Spoiler Certainly looks like projection mapping will be used in the ride!
Can you imagine the hype if the Mack family announced Brexitapark, Milton Keynes.... Summer 2022. Merlin would [email protected]@# themselves Sure Snorri is unlikely to be the best ride the world has ever seen, but its looking like another solid addition.
It seems like a really clever way to implement screens on the ride. Not a huge screen fan but it makes sense for a project which isn’t going to break the bank and is tight for space. New technology is always good - and Snorri is adorable!
Screen based? Unsure that the whole ride is screen based. As we've seen with some of the great dark rides like Forbidden Journey and Spiderman - when blended in with real-life sets and other pieces, screens can work well.
Another video this time with some explanations in English. - Inside the multimedia dome the vehicles are on motion platforms (so it will be like a simulator ride within) - 25 second films
