Looks cool but why not just build a trackless dark ride? No need for a turntable; if it breaks the whole ride goes down, unlike an individual car breaking and simply being taken off.
There are company's that do trackless rides relatively cheap now. Merlin use them in the Legoland Disvovery Centres so they cant cost that much. Some companys even include motion bases.

Just seems a bit odd they've gone for an old school ride system when a newer one might have been simpler.

This ride might actually be quite good.

Is it known who is manufacturing Snorri Touren, out of interest? My initial instinct leaps to Mack, but I don't feel like I've heard of them building a dark ride system in some time, so it might well be another manufacturer.

Really? Would be the first time I've ever known a major Western theme park buy from them, even though I'm sure they are very capable!

The Snorri Touren ride vehicle is on the Mack rides stand at IAAPA this week. I guess it's possible that there's someone else involved too though...

I would expect ETF to be involved, too.

RE: Trackless system - it's such a small footprint, it would be a waste of a trackless system really. They can keep a trackless system in their locker for something big in a few years rather than the fairly small ride that Snorri Touren is.

    :)

I get what you are saying if Mack are the manufacturers. If they are sinking R&D into a trackless system they'd want to do something significant. Tracked rides, turntables and motion platforms they've done before so it'd be easier to implement.

However if this is done by a third party there's no reason not to go trackless. A basic system is relatively cheap and small footprints are where trackless systems excel! You could build one in your living room if you had the cash :D

It’s made by Tacumeon Rides (https://tacumeon-rides.com) which seem to be Mack or linked to Mack as it’s got the Mack rides logo on the website and Mack address.

Yup Tacumeon Rides seems to be a new company, still owned my Mack combining the work that Mack Media does along with Mack Rides to provide both the ride hardware and the interactive experience/theming for rides.

Tacumeon Rides seems to be a Mack Rides company. Same adress as Mack Rides and the same person in charge.

Sounds like some kind of tax dodge, if you ask me!

    Here’s an early POV:

Because it’s the first day of soft opening I won’t comment on the stops before the screen section - as I assume they will be reduced with time.

As for the ride, it looks really charming - in a similar vein to Madame Whatshername. The projections in the first room are effective and any ride with singing rocks is good in my books. However, the fast-paced nature of the domes doesn’t seem to fit the ride at all..!

What a joy it is to have Scandinavia fully open though!

Looks like a great little family ride, this is really what Towers need.
Looking at the power rails, speed changes etc is this an updated Duel/Haunted House ride system?

Looks very similar. I'm quite impressed though, it's longer than I expected and there's some really nice looking effects. Like others have said, Im not so sure on the movie scene, not sure if it's needed considering the ride itself is fairly long and the potential for delays it causes. However, the dome screens are difficult to judge on camera, so will have to see how it is in person.
