2019: Scandinavia & Snorri Touren

From the (admittedly short) video, it looks like there's someone standing at the end of the tunnel. Given the size of the tunnel relative to the person it would seem it's too small to be the rapids tunnel, which would lead me to think it's Rulantica

Some new photos from Michael Mack:
It is progressing very well although there is still a lot to get done in the next two and a half weeks to ensure that Fjord Rafting can open! Knowing EP they'll get what needs doing done though.
You can also see how work on the new Pirates show building is progressing.

I cannot wait to see this finished. Scandinavia has always looked great, but EP's theming quality is constantly improving.

Europa Park celebrated the “topping out” ceremony (Europa seem to really like their topping out ceremonies!) for the Scandinavian alley today.
Michael Mack posted some pictures from the event on Twitter:
“A very special moment. Thanks to the great work of our staff and the great support from Extern, we were already able to celebrate the topping-out ceremony for Scandinavia today. Thank you for the active support! @europa_park #mackmagicmoments”

Do Europa park do all their theming in house now? Or do they use external companies?

I’m not sure how much is in house at the moment, probably a fair amount, however some elements of the Can Can Coaster theming (eg the fabulous Statue Of Liberty torch in the queue line) was made by Scruffy Dog.Do Europa park do all their theming in house now? Or do they use external companies?

Some photos on Facebook showing how Scandinavia is coming along:
Clever use of scaffolding to ensure that Fjord Rafting can re-open at the start of the season.
EPFans.info have also confirmed that the video shared last week by Michael Mack was indeed from the inside of Fjord's tunnel.

It looks like it’s really coming along nicely. Especially love the new rock work on the lower part of the facade! Shape of the wood makes some of the buildings look like they’re built out of giant lollypop sticks
Genuinely can’t wait to see it finished!

I'm looking forward to a more consistent story, and to not be overloaded with animatronics (which EP's older dark rides seem to do - I'm looking at you, Geisterschloss). EP's theming and storytelling abilities have improved dramatically since the original was made, so I have very high expectations for this.

We'll definitely see it "jazzed up". There was very much a tendancy to add layer upon layer of theming over the years on their dark rides, especially as @Rose Of Dawn says - on Geischterschloss. There was never a desire to remove old theming, often to the detriment of the ride experience.
We know they can achieve some great dark ride scenes, for examples recently with the likes of the tunnel on Whale Adventures: Northern Lights and even the queue lines for Voletarium and CanCan Coaster. I'm completely fine with the ride being rebuilt in a similar fashion in terms of look, although admittedly the Mack's initial comments about rebuilding it like for like worried me. But, the new concept art shows boats and scenes which appear to be far more detailed than what was there before. It's sometimes easy to forget we have this coming with all they're doing at the moment in terms of Rulantica, Kronosar and Scandinavia (not forgetting Fjord-Rafting improvements too!).
We've had loads of screen or coaster based dark rides, and it's been a long long time since we've had something of this scale and type built from scratch. The Fjord-Rafting tunnel concepts and image form Michael Mack give me real hope we're going to see something special. Really looking forward to seeing this take shape
