Seems the latter.

Thank god for that. Also the first 2 Saturdays are now apparently fully booked as you can't book on those days on the website. They haven't even released the system that allows passholders to book meaning there will be no passholders on the opening day.

Shame they've gone for the easy option, could have been a great leveller if they'd managed to come up with a working virtual queue system. Main queues will be unbearably slow until they can fully load the rides.

That's why I hope the capacity is really low otherwise won't get on much in a day

10k in the park all rides will have capacity cut down. More then likely fast track and rap will available on the day. Definitely not a place/situation I’d personally want to be until it all calms down.

They really should not be selling Fastrack at the moment but obviously they will.

Didn't Thorpe increase their gate price? Maybe they won't be flogging Fastrack and that will cover their losses.

I should mention that I think the method for viewing ticket numbers also works on fastrack packages, I should be able to check how many of each, anyone want me to check?

If rides are running low capacity then fastrack will have to be restricted or they'll end up either screwing over everyone else or with extremely long fastrack waits. Since they probably won't want to lose the revenue altogether its possible they could hike the price substantially (i.e. don't sell platinum and increase the cost of gold to the platinum level)

If nothing else, the selling out of tickets for the first 2 Saturdays clearly proves that the park will have no problems convincing people to return!

Definitely not proof really 10k is about average for a summer season day. It was always guaranteed people will never be put off going these places and the people who are put off wouldn’t make the difference.

10k sounds like a lot. Doesn't the park usually get that on a weekend?

It's not that much really, the park should be getting 15k+ at the weekends. But yes, these days usually 10k is the average weekend number

So if that's what they averagely get how are they reducing the capacity? I can already tell the queues are gonna be horrendous

Well 4500 system enforced cap on day tickets is a fair drop, there's just not way to find out passholder or hotel.

Hotel wise you are talking about somewhere around 2500 people based on 4 to a room across ATH, Splash, CBeebies and Enchanted Village IF they were fully booked (which they won’t be) and every single guest was in the park (which they won’t be).

The signage on my visit the other week around the park showed no changes to FT. I reckon it won't be a thing.
