Just came off nemesis for my last ride of the day (never fails to impress), overall a satisfactory day in my opinion. Yes, it is very different and the vibe of the park isn't the same. But just to get back to a park (even if it was a huge difference), was great fun. Managed to get on all the coasters, bar spinball and RMT. Wickerman running more raucous than ever, some great little pops of airtime emerging now. The Smiler is the disappointment of the day for me, in a torrid state and rougher than ever, major TLC needed. However there are more than a few other places in that park that could do with some TLC too!. Will also take my hats of to the staff who are trying their best during these different times. Next up Blackpool, then Oakwood!

Reading all this makes me glad I went to BPB instead of AT which sounds like a right mess.

Steady, Nemesis and Galactica move quite well with them loading all rows, we didn't queue Longer than an hour for anything, the good old start and end your day in forbidden valley for a few walk ons is still a good idea. Only one I felt moved quite slow was the smiler, I did find the estimated queue times a good way to get any idea of how busy an area is but it's really not accurate in terms of actual wait time.

But humans can fall apart too! For some it’s been a real struggle keeping it together during the lockdown for sure. And when at AT I often feel like striking a whole train-load of people - not just those behind me. Dummies are much safer in this regard.Although I sort of agree that virus protection should be the main issue for everyone at the moment, if you sat one on each side of the ride, wearing masks the risk is probably very small. Sitting face to face shouting in a pub is a higher risk, at least on Spinball you are back to back.
I would imagine there are rules that the ride can’t be run partly with humans and partly with dummies, possibly just for the simple reason that if a dummy falls apart and strikes someone in a row behind etc.

It seems that Hansa Park has had a few issues with regards to social distancing policies. Looking at some of the issues and complaints on social media at Merlin attractions, social distancing not being followed is a big complaint. We might see AT adopt a similar approach of enforcing masks in queue lines, perhaps even more congested areas of the park.
I think the wristband for those exempt from wearing a mask is good idea, it might be useful for you @imanautie maybe something to suggest in your correspondence to AT. I do like their approach of asking people to being critical (constructively) as it seems great that they want to listen directly to customers rather than just handing out generic questionnaires and feedback tablets. It would be great to see a more personal approach from the Merlin estate during this time.

However there is also a small drop of melancholy. Due to the results of our constant checks, the personal responsibility with regard to keeping clear in waiting areas leaves something to be desired. Our inspectors have of course taken into account that in the family group and in the allowed gatherings up to 10 people the distance requirement does not apply. It is also clear to us that this permitted deviation from the distance requirement in the waiting areas is not easily recognizable for other guests. In some cases, however, active removal or damage to the distance points was found. Therefore, the mask requirement applies from now on in all waiting areas. We will monitor compliance, and violations can result in eviction from the park. We urgently ask those who are exempt from the obligation to wear a mouth-and-nose cover according to the state ordinance on their day of visit to the service center to provide a bracelet that can be used by other guests, our employees and the inspectors Liberation signals.
Please be responsible and prudent when observing the distance and hygiene rules. And please stay by our side as an important advisor and constructive critic, so that together we can constantly improve this situation, which is new to all of us and for which we all cannot do anything. We do our best for you. Promised!
Dear Guests,
we want to say "thank you"! We were very excited about how it will work out. All the new, constantly changing rules, the unfamiliar pre-reservation and the very limited number of visitors. The first few days with you showed that we can do it together.
With safety and fun in the HANSA-PARK is also possible in Corona times.
Your own responsibility, your help, your understanding and also your patience in the first few days have made it possible for us to raise the quotas and thus to reserve all season ticket holders three days in advance since Monday, July 6th. With new season tickets, this is possible as soon as the tickets are issued.
In addition, we have already implemented numerous improvements based on your criticism and suggestions, so that despite all the necessary corona rules, a little “normality” can move in again and you have the greatest possible freedom as our guests:
• First-time buyers of a season ticket can now also rebook the first day of admission they need to reissue the season ticket. So if something comes up, no problem. Please rebook in good time so that someone else can look forward to the quota that becomes available.
• Day ticket holders can also rebook a reserved visit day. The pre-dated day embroidery does not expire at HANSA-PARK, but can be used on another day that you reserve until the end of the season. The following also applies here: Please rebook in good time so that another can look forward to the vacant quota!
• Children under the age of four no longer have to be registered.

The elderly who are lonely and those in fear for their jobs, maybe. But for most, lockdown has been a skive. As someone who's worked completely throughout the so called 'lockdown" I get agitated at all the "come on Britain, you can do it" crap that's been banded around as if staying at home was some sort of sacrifice. In reality, most people have been sat on their arse in the comfort of their own home playing on their PlayStations or watching Netflix raking in 80 - 100% pay from either their employers or the government. But humans can fall apart too! Behind all the clapping on Thursdays and Rainbows in Windows, I think the whole Covid thing has brought out, and shone a light on, the very worst within the people of this country. I'm on park tomorrow and I'm sure I'll see plenty more examples of it there as well. The park itself, who seem to have gone above and beyond actually in terms of SD, will get the blame for this no doubt.

I’ve also worked through lockdown, but from home and I miss seeing colleagues, the routine of the office, the other tasks that’s aren’t just computer based. It can be hard working from home and changing your routine, not everyone has been on furlough.
Also what about those who were in furlough but are worrying they won't have a job to go back to? Many retailers and restaurant chains have already gone bust and these people are now out of work.
Lockdown is not a skive. Furlough might be, depending on how secure the job you have to go back to, but a lot of people are still working from home and not enjoying it, stuck inside a small flat.

Good for you if you had a job which allowed you to work throughout lockdown. I would've quite liked that too but was furloughed for just under 3 months not sure if I'd have a job to go back to. Got over 20 wins on COD Warzone and watched a lot of Netflix though.
I’m still furloughed unfortunately but when there’s no work to do I don’t know what people expect people to do then. End of the day if someone one wants to play video games or watch Netflix then so be it if there’s no work to be done. I haven’t left the house since March because there’s nothing to do anywhere apart from walking.

Then go for a walk if you’re able. Headphones/sunglasses/mask on. Being outdoors can be a real mood booster if you’re able to do it & have somewhere pleasant to walk along (excluding a dual carriageway of course!).I’m still furloughed unfortunately but when there’s no work to do I don’t know what people expect people to do then. The park has been open for 5 days and I've had enough already. What a dreadful, awful, diabolical start to the season. Firstly, I appreciate with the procedures in place that queues and loading of rides will take longer, but seriously how have towers let queues consistently get as long as they have been. They've capped the capacity at 5k but somehow the smiler is getting a 2 hour queue. I went on a weekday when there was 5k on park and there were no more than 10 min queues all day. This clearly shows how much the reduced capacity is effecting the rides. Therefore they really need to do something in order to increase their capacity in the coming weeks as they'll be even more manic.
I have no idea what you expected when the parks reopened but just be glad the parks are open. The cleaning every 30 minutes seems to be the biggest thing slowing queues down from what has been reported. Personally I don't think they need that much cleaning during the day, but if you don't like these queues, then wait until later in the season, or next year when hopefully they will be able to run at full capacity but have more people in the park resulting in two hours queues instead.
That was the biggest downside at Thorpe when I went on Sunday, seemed to go from one ride to another and get caught in cleaning downtime. The cleaning every 30 minutes seems to be the biggest thing slowing queues down from what has been reported.
If they made it mandatory to wear masks in the queue and to do hand sanitizing on queue entry / station entry they possibly get away with hourly cleaning which would help a great deal.
