Not yet been mentioned but at the moment due to low infection numbers locally the park no longer requires testing or vaccination proof to enter.

The parade has also restarted in the park after being cancelled for all of 2020. However it is the old Party Parade. The brand new Adventure Parade which was pre-corona advertised for 2020 has not yet debuted yet - its future is unknown.

Club Cards have also been reactivated as of today.

For the 46th birthday of the park today EP have released their summer 2021 song "Smile".

It’s good to see almost all the shows have now returned.

The biggest area which still seems effected now is in the food and beverage locations which are still not fully open - I think I count around 12 which are still not open and most of them are the more interesting ones like Magellan Lounge, Crocodile Bar and Spices.

Rather quietly it appears that EP have reactivated Clubcards which were valid after March of last year and extended these by the requisite period they would have otherwise been valid after that date. You can log in to check when your new validity date is or otherwise request a refund prior to the end of the month.

In what seems like another step in the right direction, those with a validly extended Clubcard can now reserve unlimited days to visit until their pass’s expiry. Having just given it a go, it seems like a pretty simple process, except for having to re-login every time you want to reserve another date.

Indeed, my Clubcard which was purchased at the very end of 2019 is valid until July 2022!

I wish EP would get more food/beverage options open.

That, shorter hours and a higher gate price isn't going to help guest satisfaction.

Other than the upstairs of O'Mackays, what else is closed? Has SPICES reopened yet?

I've not a list but I believe Spices remains shut along with many others.

It's the same story at Disneyland Paris.

A pity. Any idea what sort of capacity limits the park are facing at the monent? If they are still someway down on usual numbers then they probably cannot financially justify having all outlets open. Not something I thought I would ever say about Europa-Park, but if that is the case it shows just how badly they have been hit over the past 18 months.

I guess it could also be staffing issues.

I think there are also concerns over measures being reimposed by the RKI.

I still haven't finished my report from earlier this month, but the F&B issue was easily the biggest downside of my recent visit to Europa Park. Not sure if it's caution to do with stock or staffing issues, as the rides were running at full pelt and efficiency, as per.

EP might be closing an hour earlier than we'd want currently and a couple of larger food outlets are closed but my god.

    The throughput at this place.

Probably not. I'm too old and been too many times to recount my experiences on Piccolo Mondo... but, I'll put together some summaries.

Does anyone happen to know how the Virtual Line system works when using it with a Clubcard reservation? How do you link your ticket in the app?

We tried to use it when we were there a few weeks ago - entirely unsuccessfully. It's not particularly complicated but there's limited availability (there were 6 of us which is the maximum group size and I think the problem we had was that there was never enough availability in any time slot for us to make a booking for the whole group, I don't know enough about how it works to confirm that though).

In theory, you can go into the virtual line section of the app and either scan your clubcard or enter the number manually when you're in the park. As long as your card has been scanned at the entrance it should work. If there's more than 2 of you I recommend setting it up as soon as the park opens to maximise your chances.

TBH I'd rather they just ditch the whole thing.

Roland has suggested a few times now Virtual Line is here to stay.

Meanwhile Mack Media’s long teased streaming service VeeJoy seems to be coming soon.

The beginning of the end for no (paid) fast pass system at EP perhaps. I hope I'm wrong. :(

Well, we've been worrying about this for 10 years. Still not happened. Hopefully they still keep the high ground with Efteling about it all.
