Just got back from a great couple of days at Towers. The park was very busy but operations were very good meaning that I managed 38 rides over the 2 days without any fast track.
I won’t go too into detail but I want to mention a couple of things:
• The park is looking very clean at the moment and good to see live entertainment on the stage being enjoyed.
• Ride availability was very good, I don’t think a single ride was closed for more than a couple of hours during the visit.
• Operations on most things were great, Nemesis, Wicker Man and The Smiler especially.
• The Retro Squad rides do look very out of place but they’re doing their job for this year, all 3 of them gaining queues.
• Great to see Smiler’s SRQ open again, meant that we managed to get 10 rides on it over the last couple of days, each one with absolutely no queue.
• A final mention to the Nemesis staff last night, where they had to close the ride due to a storm but they kept us all entertained and updated very well and evacuated the other train very quickly too.
Just a couple of negatives though:
• The refill stations all had huge queues throughout the day, they could do with installing some more of them throughout the park.
• The operations on Mixtape and Roller Disco are awful. It felt like it took around 10 minutes between cycles to load and unload both, meaning what was a wait of 2 cycles for Roller Disco ended up being a 22 minute wait and 3 cycles for Mixtape was a 38 minute wait.
• The car park exit at the end of the day needs improving, I got in the car at 5:50 yesterday and didn’t end up leaving the site until 7:15. They need more than one exit out of the main car park.
• Galactica’s queue time was well underestimated both times we went on it. Admittedly it was only running one station with two trains for both rides so may have been harder to predict, however I think they should have adjusted the queue time accordingly.
Overall though, we had a great time and look forward to returning soon, very impressed mainly with how Towers is looking and operating this year.
