Lots of images and videos doing the rounds to show how bad the weather has been on park today:

I suspect GG's queue line will be in somewhat of a terrible condition if the leaking ceiling hadn't been resolved either.

Gotta feel sorry for Towers with the amount of people moaning about the weather and the rides being closed. Who goes to a theme park without checking the weather?

This was the weather we were expecting to have on the weekend when we visited but thankfully it changed and was really nice. Feel sorry for those caught in it - however freak weather events will become the norm now and we need to adapt to them (better plumbing!)

Alton should be ok though, they have Paradise Plumbers next door who are used to floods - maybe they can give them a shout.

Theming at Splash Landings is looking bang on. But perhaps that fountain is set a tad too high.

In all seriousness I hope they can get things cleared up without too much disruption. I am sure they could do without this right now.

you still need to know what to pack and what to wear on the day surely?!?!

Yes, but I doubt small inflatable dinghies are on most people's holiday lists...

Seriously though, that looks really bad, if the hotel is flooded there are going to be a lot of people with ruined holidays and that's going to be a huge headache for the park to sort out.

Oh my… will this flooding potentially damage the park like it did the parks in Belgium?

Must be gutting for those who’ve booked holidays any time soon; will the park be shut for the next couple of days/weeks while they clean up?

It doesn't look as bad as Belgium, this is local surface water issues not a river bursting banks. The issue is the drains can't cope and the ground can't soak away the water.

In the park I expect there will be some stuff that needs electrics testing and they will need to check for mudslides but the majority will have the water drain away by the morning. Most rides will be operating fine tomorrow.

The worst for clean up will be the hotel carpeting.

In the hotels I assume they will need to arrange for ATH guests to eat at Flambo's or Crooked Spoon tonight and tomorrow morning. Or maybe if the kitchen is OK they can use the conference centre (I assume the conference centre kitchen is on the lowest level too so may have issues as well).
But that low floor of ATH won't be accessible until the carpet dries and then it may need replacement in case there is a smell. So they may need to move service from the Secret Garden and Dragon Bar for a while.
Should be covered by insurance though if the carpet is replaced.

I’m intrigued to see what Smiler’s pit was like; I’ve seen photos of it where the rain has been far less heavy and it’s looked akin to a river…
