Oh dear; it would appear that the park is getting lambasted about today in the Birmingham Mail: https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/black-country/waste-day-out-alton-towers-20369718
The park and whatever other establishment they want to target will be "lambasted" by the tabloids no matter what. See the shots of coastal resorts with zoom lenses during the last relaxation of restrictions for further evidence of this.
Sadly journalism these days consists of searching for random tweets from relatively anonymous accounts that allow the writer to confirm the opinion they have already got set in their head. A negative view of others gives them the clicks they require on the website.
Of course some people did not keep apart in the queues on occasion, it's the same in supermarkets etc. But regular automated announcements and staff coming round generally ensured people them spaced out at the queues continued to move.
In terms of Mixtape, that ride just needs to settle in on the loading procedures front. It's not that the queue is all that large, it's just it's taking a considerable amount of time between cycles to get going again. It'll settle in as time goes on. It's a fun little ride though, good for a laugh!
