Well they seem to be onto the issue a lot quicker than the smiler. Never thought a part would take over 2 weeks to arriveThey’re currently fixing part of the track

I'm sure they were "on to" the Smiler's issue as quick as they could be; if it turned out that a part was needed then there will be a delay and it would be out of their hands - if it has to be manufactured then they're at the mercy of the manufacturer (who in turn could be having capacity issues), if it's an electronic part they could be suffering from the effects of the chip shortage. Then add on HGV driver issues, Covid, border checks and it soon all adds up to the delay they're experiencing.Well they seem to be onto the issue a lot quicker than the smiler. With WM, if it's just some wood or metal track needing replacing, then a few nails and screws here and there then it can be done much, much quicker (yes I know I'm simplifying the process quite considerably here!)

Well Wicker Man is operating now so whatever needed doing only took a few hours.
Pretty impressive if they were working on the track. They've found the problem, sorted the wood out (cut it to size), put it in place and made sure its safe by doing testing (and I imagine they have to do quite a bit after replacing a bit of track). I know its a routine procedure for a woodie but its nice to know Towers are capable of doing at at decent speed.Well Wicker Man is operating now so whatever needed doing only took a few hours.

Yeah they could've just been inspecting it. Who knows though."Working on the track" does not necessarily mean replacement.
Fair point @Rick I just felt like giving the park a completement!"Working on the track" does not necessarily mean replacement.

It isn't uncommon. Parks can wait weeks, or even months for parts to arrive. Whole range of factors to consider, from fabrication to shipping logistics. They might not be able to just nip into the back of the Gerst factory and slap it in a next day delivery envelope.

I'm not sure what anyone would wish them to do more of regarding the Smiler. They'll be desperate to get it open and I'm sure they've done everything they can to sort it. It's not as if they identified an issue and then decided they couldn't be bothered or haven't acted as urgently as they could. If it's closed for this long at this key time of year, it's clearly out of their hands.

It looks as though it's no longer possible to buy tickets for Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd, Wednesday 3rd or Thursday 4th November - however there are still tickets available for all three days of Fireworks, for both general admission and passholders.
What's going on? I can't believe they've reached capacity on these days, especially with all three days of Fireworks still bookable. Or do you think they've decided to cut capacity right back so they can focus on getting all their broken rides back in operation before Fireworks?

They are still bookable via the regular day tickets booking page. Did you look for these dates after going via the Fireworks event page? If so that is why they are greyed out, that link will only take you to Fireworks days only.

Hex has been closed for four days now. Not looking good for the Christmas event, they might have to open Duel instead.

There's a month until the Christmas event. And we have no idea what the issue is, nor how thinly the maintenance department are currently spread. As usual, there's no point in speculating as long as we don't know any actual facts.

Still a bit of a leap mate, four weeks is a long time, especially when you look at the number of closed days between now and then and consider the number of resources that frees up to fix things rather than deal with pre/post day efforts and breakdowns. That's why I said "not looking good" instead of "it won't be open".![]()

Has anyone tried booked the hotels over december? surely there not fully booked?
I tried for the 19th December but nothing available
The santa sleepovers were nearly sold out when I was looking a few weeks back, so wouldn't surprise me if they were all gone now.
