Exactly what MattyH says. The marketing for the new story has pretty much been on point so far. Everything from the day they announced Duel was closing has pointed directly at the storyline we are now getting.

The moment "This is my house" appeared on that white board, people started talking an Emily Alton storyline for the retheme, and she's lived in a dolls house for the past 30 years.
Slightly related - does anyone know who did play the little girl in the original effect? Wouldn't it be strange if they'd tracked her down and if she has a daughter they got her to be Emily in this incarnation? That would be the ultimate easter egg!

The original actress for Emily Alton is Lucy Webb, the daughter of David Webb. Not sure what she has been doing since then though unless someone knows better than I do.

I can see why some folk don’t like projection mapping and screens as the UK has never really been very good at implementing them. I wouldn’t say the projection mapping on Wicker Man is terrible by any stretch but one issue Towers do have is they seem to have no process for calibrating the mapping as it naturally starts to shift slightly.

That said I think done well and mixed with physical effects screens and projections can really enhance a ride.

Projection mapping is great, when it’s maintained. The Smiler’s never worked well and Wicker Man’s was great in opening year, but has not been probably maintained over the years.

This will likely go the same way, will look great in 2023, misalign and look a bit dodgy from 2024 onwards.

I think this attraction is going to be really good, but must confess, that I don't get this marketing stunt at all.

A glorified garden shed in London?

The hook is the unusual contrast of the Doll's House/shed against the ultra-modern background of Canary Wharf and East London's skyscrapers. It's a compelling image for social media and press outlets. A pretty decent activation as they go, was also impressed with the Nemesis stuff.

I think this juxtaposition of a haunted house in Staffordshire via the medium of a garden shed against the urban backdrop may just be too intellectual for me :(

But then I thought Noel's House Party was high concept lol...

Where are you getting a garden shed from?
The images Towers Street have posted show a detailed set with multiple props and details.

Thats all this was meant to be though, a setpiece to get some press coverage.

The thing with projection mapping they could have multiple projectors so 1 ride will never be the same.
Like if it is like hide and seek say in the great Hall she could appear in front of you and go Boo you can’t catch me then another time she could be hiding behind the 2 pillars where them Demons swinged out.
Would love a big jump scare at the end where u had your photo originally taken as the 1st time I went on it that monster coming out of that hole made me jump.

Now here is something of interest regarding a recent video on the pop up dolls house in which in a wee chat about the ducks in the roof and if something about them will play a part in the new ride, apparently it seems that last week the Flume duck has finally been moved from the flume tunnel at long last. Don't know about the actual building itself if it is still there in the woods.

Ofc, I must stress to take this with a grain of salt but make what you will of that. Either it has finally been chucked into the skip or is actually getting used. Either way, I don't want to hold my breath on that but then again who knows what's going on there.

Please say it will be used! It will be a good scare for the GP, and a great Easter egg for us!

I would imagine the ride is complete now. They'll be well into the final touch ups and testing I would imagine. Bit late in the day to be removing things from places and installing in the ride

Even I have to take things with a grain of salt as I don't want to totally believe them as it does seem a little too good to be true though given how a few theme park rumours these days such as that Thorpe Park fansite being the first to get a leak on the theme of Alton Manor seemed to turn out to be true, and of the recent sighting of the duck in the dolls house...anything is possible I suppose.

Slightly off topic but I do hope the Flume building is used for something else like maybe a future maze for Scarefest as, let's face it, the bar was set low last year so they'd have nothing to lose this time round by retrofitting an existing building into something useful.

Is that building actually still there?

What existing buildings? There is a small amount of shed that covered some track but it’s been sat deteriorating for five years or more in the middle of some woods with poor access. They have nothing to gain by trying to turn that into a guest area.
