2023: The Curse at Alton Manor

The question is, how long will it take this ride to fall into a bad state once Bianca leaves.

From what I could see, Bianca was very big on having effects and what not working. So without that push from the top, will things start to slip, as they have for a major part of the parks life.

I’m not sure Bianca had any idea of the day to day maintenance of a singular attraction. Her role was/is high level. She provides leadership to her managers and the managers filter this down. It’s just common corporate business. You do less the higher you get, trust me.

Under her leadership there was a noticable change and effort into plussing and maintaining ride effects, all over the park. This was publicly acknowledged a few times too I am sure.

Without a doubt part of her leadership was improving guest experience, with one of those things being in the form of ride effects.

Let's be honest, were Towers always good at keep effects working? If the original Haunted House and maybe Toyland Tours were to go by then I guess not. The only reason why we talk about it a lot is that it is reported more thanks to social media and had it been around during the Golden years I'd have no doubt we'd be having a similar argument here.

Not quite. Long broken effects were fully or partially brought back under her leadership, such as waterfalls on both the rapids and Nemesis.

The question now is will the push and drive to keep effects working, that has clearly been apparent in the last few years, be lost with a change at the top. I am inclined to think they possibly will be.

I understand what you are saying @DistortAMG and 100% agree with you.

Those at the top set the tone for the rest of business operations- so a directive on working effects would essentially come from the leadership with a KPI no doubt measuring this being reported in to the leadership team.

New leader = maybe new priorities
Time will tell

I would say yes they would maintain it the fact other merlin parks gave started to upgrade their effects keeping them going.

Like Chessington have just brought back Frazzle an animitronic gives me more hope they can keep animtronics going on Curse

Could you please say that again, but in English please? I understand part of what you said, other bits I did not.

I would say yes, they would maintain it, since other Merlin parks have performed maintenance on effects recently - such as Frazzle, the animatronic dragon at Chessington that has made his return after years of being broken. This gives me hope that this maintenance boost can be reciprocated on rides like curse.
