2023: The Curse at Alton Manor

The one effect that annoys me that doesn’t work anymore and would be ways to fit is the nursery/misery sign near the start. The lights don’t change in time anymore like when the ride opened so you usually miss the sign changing to misery.

All of these props have been restored by the owner aswell, with what looks like UV being applied to the spider as originally intended back in 1992.

I reckon some of these could of been reused in Curse of Alton Manor to fill up the ride with more to look at

It was working when I went on today (about 11? 11:30?), but the timing of Nursery/Misery was really bad, even looking backwards I struggled to catch it, it was so out of sync.

Emily Alton wasn't moving on my first ride Saturday but was on the second ride.

The best effect - Emily sitting in the ride car - is seemingly broken.

No lights on in that area at all.

I think there's a mode where it hides the broken effects, or if there's nothing at all it might be a missed trigger.

The topic of broken effects has reminded me when I last went on 3rd October, the spider section didn't work at all. The spider did not lower. It just stayed there... Maybe the wind and rain of Storm Amy had got to the Manor

Sometimes if you miss one trigger than a whole section won’t trigger as I assume they are linked.

It also sometimes happens if the ride stops and you have already gone past the trigger point.

Interesting as I seem to remember there was the sounds of Emily Alton talking about the spiders - would that mean it has triggered? We did have a brief stop in the garden section but that would have been due to someone needing more time to get on.

I'll be honest every time I have done it this year I always come off thinking "something didn't work - that section seemed awfully dark for a while". So now, I don't even know what a perfect run-through is.

That whole section has lighting issues, I don't know if they edited it at some point and didn't configure it correctly but the scene is overly extended and it plays once the vehicle has passed

there's supposed to be like a flap thing that falls down to hide the projector and rise up when the scene triggers that hasn't worked in a while, this was to block out light

There's a similar shutter system in use at Dover Castle, in the "D Day Tunnels" exhibit. Thanks to that, at points you are in true, total blackout.
