I feel that's a very impractical invention, can't see how it would make it easier to eat the food and then you've got a sticky tray to lug around until you can clean it and with how many times someone will realistically use it doesn't help the carbon footprint than a little takeaway box, if it makes £ then it makes sense though.

Depending on what you eat/store in the top of that... Cup?
I can already see wasps getting very interested in these! xD

Charity worker sold Alton Towers tickets meant for terminally-ill kids on eBay

In short Merlin's Magic Wand provide free tickets to various hospitals for long term patients (in this case Nottingham and Leicester), this scumbag took those tickets and sold them on eBay. When COVID hit she switched to claiming financial support for fictional and deceased children.

I feel sick after reading that.

Utterly disgraceful, especially since she herself was ill with cancer during her own childhood. It's also apparent that she herself was in an abusive relationship who'd demand the "pub" money, and accrued further debt with the onset of a gambling addiction. It's clear that she has suffered a lot in her life and evidently needs a lot of rehabilitative help urgently, not just a prison sentence. Terrible that the ex-partner is getting away scott-free. Or at least from I read before the article crashed due the absolute abundance of adverts on what otherwise is a good piece of local journalism...

People like this need shooting.

We have a non verbal autistic child who is obsessed with CBeebies. Last year we claimed on the fund, purely speculative and ended il being given the best day out. Everything was catered for his needs to make what would usually be an impossible situation into a great family day out.

All it takes is idiots like this to spoil the fun for the others and the charity stops making donations. Absolutely shocking.

Wonder if that’s an indication across the board of lower than expected prebooks?

27,000 discounted Towers tickets available according to the T&Cs

It does seem to suggest lower prebooks than they would like going into summer. Perhaps not surprising given the cost of living pressures and unpredictable weather which may be putting people off booking a trip too far out.

From a quick look at the respective websites, ticket quotas for this deal are:

Chessington: 14,000
Thorpe: 18,000
Legoland: 21,000
Alton Towers: 27,000
Warwick Castle: 50,000

£19 tickets available for under 15s for dates between now and end of summer holidays.

Max of three per booking. Seems it’s a Merlin wide offer across all theme parks.

Just looking at booking out of interest, you need to go through the link from that page to get the cheap kids tickets to show. Also it won't show which days have the lowest price adult tickets, to see that on the calendar need to use the normal day ticket link. Next week beginning 15th July seems to be the only week with £44 adult tickets so I expect they have a lot of school trips booked!

Towers have certainly been quieter than I was expecting last week and yesterday. Maybe not same demand for school trips, or the trips are crammed into next week

5pm closes in the summer holidays? This didn’t even happen in the ‘post Smiler’ years. Very very poor.

Are towers struggling this year? I thought theme park wise they were having a good year so whats with reducing the hours
