The comments under the Facebook post are amusing. Few people thinking it’s closing for good
Why wouldn't they, to be fair?

Nice to see them using past lore such as Phalanx being mentioned.
Yeah people who aren't a part of any groups, forums or watch British theme park YouTubers don't really have any indication that it is going to reopen, typical towers.I was going to say some people will think this is for good. Maybe it should be clearer that it’s not a permanent closure?

This one’s a likely longer term closure and a more popular ride. It’s also a hard sell to say “we’re shutting Duel” and then weeks later say “oh we’ve shut this one too!” While still trying to encourage people to visit. So from a marketing point of view they’ve chosen just the one ‘bigger one’ to publicise.Nice to see them using past lore such as Phalanx being mentioned.
But yeah, it's already had more of an announcement of its closure than Duel ever did towards its end.

Could the reference to The Phalanx also be a hint towards Sub Terra reopening in some capacity?Nice to see them using past lore such as Phalanx being mentioned.

No, there were part of the original story and there was a comic book on this too to promote the ride (looking back on it, Towers really went all out to market the ride) and Merlin simply brought them back when Sub Terra opened. Actually, I do remember one of the original Sub Terra promos actually had images of the Nemesis comic showing the history and has anyone got a link to it prove my point? Were The Phalanx part of the original 1994 story, or were they a retcon added to it by Merlin in 2012 when Sub-Terra opened?
Good grief, it's all happening at once...just wonder if they remember to hint that it will return as some of the GP aren't aware of its restoration like we are, actually I've been having to sound like a broken record to my pals that it will return. Then again who knows, maybe this way of marketing is a way of hyping up interest and could actually pay off for them big style if done well.
Actually, this gives me an idea that Merlin could play with for a marketing stunt to last a whole year...the idea that Nemesis has escaped from Towers and is running around causing chaos throughout the country Godzilla style (Nemesis is our answer for Godzilla ofc!). Each month could like in January, Nemesis is seen in Stoke (cue a picture of Stoke with some photoshop job of the Nemesis monster in the background), February could have Nemesis seen in Birmingham, March would be Manchester, May in Edinburgh and so on with this lasting the whole year with Towers social media team telling you the public to be on the lookout for Nemesis!I reckon the marketing for the retrack will focus on something along the lines of “we tried to tame the Nemesis monster, but it put up a tougher fight than we’d forecast, so it’s sticking around with newly strengthened defences” or something like that.
