[2025] Europa-Park General Discussion

I was expecting today to be hell busy as well but I guess a public holiday means no school trips - and parks like Efteling (not sure about EP) get a LOT of school trips at this time of year. Also I think the weather forecast isn't as good as it could have been.

Might also be similar to the 'bank holiday weekend' effect here - people assume the parks are going to be rammed, so they aren't. I couldn't believe how quiet it was at Alton Towers last Saturday.

I guess yesterday was the warm up as some horrific times across Europe today! Lots of 90 min waits at Europa in particular.

Today, the “bridge day”, between the holiday and weekend, is always the notoriously busy day; busier than the holiday itself. Along with Halloween, usually pretty much the busiest that the park generally gets.

The weather will also have had a bearing, where yesterday was less than brilliant, today’s forecast is pretty much unbroken sunshine.

I was there on Friday. We arrived at 1pm and the queues were all huge as expected, particularly for the water rides. Was with two 'normal' friends and we spent most of the day eating and drinking.

F&B queues were nowhere near as bad as expected, 5-10 mins for an Erdinger in the beer garden. I guess because everything is fully staffed on such days.

Voltron queue was out the entrance and looping around the ride area all day, but we got on it in 40 mins just before 8pm closing.

Saturday was still very busy but fine. Sunday Voltron was 15 minutes most of the day. Got 3 rides in half an hour via single rider.

Anyone remember what days the silver pass is blocked out over Accession day? Next year and thinking of visiting from the Sunday after Accession day and was wondering if the silver pass is still blocked out. the EP website does not display next years dates yet

Do you mean Ascension Day, i.e. last Thursday? Normally Thursday until Sunday are blocked. I guess next year will be same. Which is a shame since the Sunday is normally quite low crowds. If you sleep in the resort, you can at least get last hour entry for free on the Sunday.

Maybe I could go 'camping' the first night and forget to pitch the tent :) - we were hoping to arrive on the Sunday

There was a question elsewhere about the EP Shuttle, so in doing some research I found a picture of this weird thing from about a decade ago. Does anyone have more info on this? It's like a handful of small cabins all attached in a line to the lead car? When was this a thing, and why did they get rid of it?

Awww the MackMobile! I remember riding that. Used to run from camp resort to main entrance and back... in fact tbh I wasn't aware that it was retired...

Still umming and ahing whether to move dinner bookings. Went for 7pm buffet bookings on all 4 days. But the "we open till at least 6pm" guidance is making me think, I should have gone for 8.30ish/9 pm? Or should I just leave it as it is, 4 days seems a lot, and could inconceivably finish eating at 8pm and get back in the park still? If it closes at 7.30 then I wont be bothered.

Unless it’s extremely busy, it won’t be opening that late. If you turn up to the buffets at 9, you’ll be paying a lot of money for them to be clearing up the food an hour later.

My advice: don’t book buffets for all four days. Maybe have at least one day a la carte or you can add flexibility and go to Pizzeria Romantica which is walk-up only. Once you’ve left the park for dinner, sit back and relax, enjoy the experience without panicking to get back to the park. The hotels are lovely - visit the bars and enjoy a drink and some of the live music. Europa can be a long, tiring day. You need to give yourself some recuperation time so you can be fresh to enjoy the park the next day.

Cheers. We are at Rulantica for a 5th day and left that as the non buffet day. Might just leave it as it is then. Might underestimate our 0830 park starts and how long that day actually is..We do have options of cancelling any reservations on the day so might play it by ear. Thanks again

Don't need to rush round either. Go sit down at some shows or go on a dark ride. Sit on the train or Monorail for a loop. If that tired pop back to the hotel for a hour or so.

Truly is a park with OPTIONS.
Absolutely. Just gotta keep my 14 and 10yo boys a tight leash They push it too much sometimes. Groaning at any mention of shows usually 😂

Just a quick one; I’m heading to EP on the 26th Sep for 2 nights. Are there any discount codes or referrals I can use or am I best just booking directly with EP?

I’ve booked Eatrenalin for the first night too! It was expensive so i hope it’s worth it!

EP rarely do any discounts or promotions, you are best to book tickets on their website.

Eatrenalin is fantastic, I certainly thought it was worth it!
