[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin

I really like the shade of green, but said colour would look far better in X-Sector compared to Forbidden Valley. I think that the old look of Ripsaw was superior to what Toxicator looks like now because there was far more detail in the design. However, there is still time for improvement.

If we’re going with the theming features being tanks of toxic waste, I can imagine tubes and pipes being affixed up the support towers. I’d also LOVE to see a tube spiral around the central support as a nod to Ripsaws original theming

Even as static theming could look well, perhaps with a light through it as per the hex “pipes”

This is Merlin we're talking about, it'll just be green with a bunch of "temporary" netting in a 5 foot radius around it that's never updated, if your lucky it may have a sign that's actually 3D and not just a board of 2D printed vinyl, if your unlucky, they'll land a sponsorship deal with Prime energy and next year it'll be painted Glowberry flavour.

Honestly, just catching up on the thread now - this doesn't even have the water jets like Ripsaw right? so they've just taken a stock flat-ride, lifted it up a bit and decided that'll do, their height calculations don't even add up, maybe they'll dig a little hole underneath so they can say it's technically the tallest in the world, if you stand in the hole, and crouch down a bit.

It does have water jets.

Has water jets and two large theming structures either side.

Maybe the two large theming elements at the side could contain the green water or something that is used for the water jets, or at least pretends to be?

It could bubble and when the water jets are being used the glass tanks could empty.

The promo video did have glass tanks with green liquid in didn’t it?

Nemesis just rolled her digital eye at your post.

Some of the comments on various socials about Toxicator are laughable, moaning about now "it's not a new ride" and such. This one from Towers' original testing post, however, takes the biscuit...

😂 🤦‍♂️

Whilst that comment is silly, the "it's not a new ride" opinions are understandable as for all intents and purposes it is the same ride. Coming in the same period when we've had Nemesis, Hex and The Curse (and likely Skyride) all marketed as "new" attractions people are probably getting fed up of recycled ideas when they are craving genuine new attractions at the park. Unfortunately necessary rectifications aren't particularly exciting for many regular visitors.

That's the problem, though, it's not the same ride. Yes it's still a Top Spin, but it's a completely different version and looks nothing like Ripsaw. That's why the constant comparisons and moaning are driving me mad.

Its more about the ride experience though. It would be the equivalent of AT replacing The Blade with a new model Pirate Ship. They can theme it however they like but it'll still be a pirate ship and with flat rides the experience is everything compared to coasters, water and dark rides.

Ever since Ripsaw was removed people have been complaining that Towers should never have got rid of it and they should bring it back. Now it seems they have listened and have brought back (albeit slightly different model and totally different theme), people aren't happy because its the same as Ripsaw.

Ffs Towers can never win.

I get both sides of the argument. Personally think 9-10 years without it is enough for it to be considered its own thing without comparisons to the past, but equally can see the claim that they’re just putting back things they’d previously taken away, especially when you consider Hex, Skyride, Nemesis and Sub-Terra.

If this rumour about another flat ride making an appearance this year comes to fruition, I wonder if that could’ve come first, to build more anticipation as something new new.

I can see both sides of the argument. While it is true that (at least for thrillseekers) there hasnt been a totally new experience since Wicker Man, there is only so much that can be done at once and the fact they have refurbed and reopened existing rides rather than demolish or continue to mothball is a positive step. Whether or not Toxicator is the same ride type as Ripsaw, it was always a very popular ride for riders and spectators alike and Toxicator remains a unique ride to UK parks. What happens from here in terms of additions remains to be seen.

These are quite academic differences, though. For the casual visitor, they are effectively the same style of ride.

I think the time period is a fair point but equally there are enough people (especially enthusiasts) who at the very least remember, if have not ridden the previous incarnation.

Really it's an issue almost exclusive to flat rides as for most people they aren't particularly exciting in the first place in the hierarchy of theme park rides. If they were building another log flume 10 years later you wouldn't have the same complaints.

You would of course have lots of other complaints.
