[2025] Toxicator: New Forbidden Valley Suspended Top Spin

The thing with talocan, is that the arms are textured, so is the underside of the gondala, the arm across the middle etc. It just has more detail, even if that's not coming from theming connected to the ride system.

I just wish the green and black of the Toxicator hardware was a bit more textured and patterned in someway. Doesn't ahve to be additional themeing pieces connected to it like Ripsaw (even though that would be nice, but understand they cause problems)

I don't think there's any actual themeing connected to the ride hardware at all on Talocan. That's the trick to it.

Full test cycle here;

Remains to be seen if it will be one of the actual cycles in guest operation, but I think it'd be just enough for me if it is lol.

I've seen it run that very cycle in other testing videos so I fully expect this to be one of, if not the main cycle it will run. Looks good enough to me, not too intense or long but at least it has one set of rapid flips unlike Ripsaw.

Wow, that does look intense!

As someone who isn’t generally a massive fan of flat rides, how intense is a typical Top Spin relative to things I might have done? The main two flats I can think of that I found absolutely vile were Air Race at Drayton Manor and Samurai at Thorpe Park; it was mainly the sustained hanging upside down sensation that I found particularly bad on those, but the spinning over and over didn’t help either.

I keep thinking I should give Toxicator a go when it opens for the sake of supporting a permanent flat at Towers, but if I’m being completely honest, my personal level of enthusiasm for this project has been quite low, simply due to me not being a huge fan of flats in general.

I never did Ripsaw; my dad tells me that it “wasn’t as bad as it looked” nausea-wise, but that it also had absolutely dreadful restraints.

I won’t lie Matt, it will be intense. Ripsaw wasn’t too bad, but it had a floor. The fact this is a suspended model will naturally add to its intensity, which it looks like it will be quite high with the continuous flipping. I’d be cautious about it if you don’t like flats. I’d usually say try everything once but if you don’t typically like flat rides, this could be one that ruins your day

I have to agree with your dad, it really wasn’t as bad as it looked.

I’ve felt nauseous on Top Scans and even Walterz which is why I’d never do them again but I rode Ripsaw many times when it was relatively new and never had that feeling that I’m going to throw up.

I don’t know why but I think being spun sideways is a lot more disorientating to me than being flipped over countless times.

Do we think the green colour is (at least partly) to do with getting planning permission across the line, by helping it blend in with the trees more (same as the highest part of Rita has green track)? Looking at the testing video, the green definitely blends in much more than yellow or red would

Very much doubt it - it’s a bright neon green. Yes it blends in better than yellow or red for example, but if the aim had been to blend it would’ve been a much duller “go away green” or similar

I don't think it's about a particular desire for flat rides rides per se, it's people wanting a solution for the parks capacity issues.
I'd also say with this, it's also the variety of rides as well.

In terms of rides for those who are older than about 6-8, we have
  • The big 1.2m and 1.4m coasters
  • Curse
  • Hex
  • Runaway Mine Train
  • Rapids
  • Battle Galleons
  • Marauders Mayhem
Years gone back, we've had Ripsaw, Flume, Blade, Submission, Wave Swinger, Enterprise which doubled the supporting ride count. Even the Retrosquad and Flavios helped hugely.

I personally think one ride (in addition to flats) that will go a long way towards resolving the capacity and variety issues is to add in a modern flume style ride to the park. That would be at least an additional 1200pph of capacity on it's own.
