[2026] CBeebies Land Junior Coaster

I'd really they rather not remove Spinball, especially in recent years we've seen 1.2m attractions for younger guests who are too old for Cbeebies removed, e.g. Enterprise, The Blade, Twirling Toadstall etc.

If Spinball were to be removed in future, we need some flat rides & other attractions back first before they can even think about removing Spinball IMO!
At one point, I would have said that it wouldn’t be insurmountable for them to relocate Spinball to elsewhere in the park and enclose it.

I’d always been quite an advocate of the idea of putting it up on Coaster Corner and enclosing it. Obviously with Horizon likely coming, that would go out of the window, but would still be possible if Horizon has been cancelled.

I do feel this coaster is being given a disadvantage given what it is replacing. It could of been good for youngsters if it was elsewhere in the park.

I am also unsure if it is the last we have seen as Postman Pat could easily be relocated to else where in the park.

Shawn from Theme Park Worldwide mentioned in the video below (at the 1:04 mark) that work begins tomorrow (Tuesday 3rd June 2025).

I would have assumed that work would begin today (Monday 2nd June 2025), as I believe that half-term ended last week.

Does anybody know whether AT decided to delay work by 1 day due to today being the 10-year anniversary of the Smiler crash? Or is it because the park is open until 5 p.m. today, for some reason (but 4 p.m. for the rest of the week), and so they thought that tomorrow might be a quieter and less disruptive day?

The last day today rather than yesterday is likely because some primary schools have today off as an inset day also why it’s a 5pm close rather than 4pm. Secondary schools won’t have an inset due to gcse and alevel exams taking place today. Won’t be anything to do with the Smiler or being less disruptive.

Anyone else decided wanting to give this new coaster a fair chance if it will be good for the youngsters yes it's basic but there must be something with the Ride system as no one knows what it is.

Will all miss Postman Pat but parks do have to progress and also we've been asking for new rides that aren't rethemes so they are delivering what we wanted

I had mixed feelings about this, however taking a nearly 2 year old to Drayton Manor yesterday his favourite ride by an absolute mile was the Sodor Classic Car ride. Just sitting next to parent, turning the steering wheel, enjoying the scenery. Not a chance in hell he’d be ready or happy for a rollercoaster anytime soon no matter how tame.

It’s made me rethink how a theme park is supposed to have something for the whole family, and the removal of Pat is one less reason for parents of very young children to bring the whole family to Alton Towers.

Maybe they could add a another similar ride system elsewhere in the park with a different layout. Definitely need more rides the entire family can enjoy

Looking at the website there is 4 rides an under 0.9m can ride which is not a lot but there is more attractions they can experience, Alton may need more thrill Flat Rides but it also majorly needs more to do for under 0.9 and 1.2-1.3 more

The Royal Carousel, Bugbie Go-Round, Skyride, Get Set Go, In the Night Garden are the rides under 0.9m can go on, so it’s 5 not four. But there are lots of other attractions such as the shows and Sealife for those guests too.

I don’t think anyone has a particular issue with the coaster. If it was an additional attraction it would have almost gone without much comment.

People are questioning the loss of a staple family ride and the shortening of another family ride for the sake of this coaster. That’s the debate.

Its a poor decision to remove any unrestricted ride with one that will likely have a height limit and there's already a kid's coaster about 2 minutes away.

Going to Efteling last year really opened my eyes to how poor some parks are for offerings to the really young kids. Towers making it worse by changing the free entry to a height rather than an age.

Octonauts does need a supporting coaster to help on busy days. It's not the highest capacity.

Efteling is a tad overrated for me U prefer Alton Ride lineup better than Efteling.

They may have plans in the pipeline to add more rides without Height Restrictions

Building a coaster to support a coaster hasn't really worked for Towers though has it?

Missed my point about Efteling from the perspective of rides for kids. At <0.9m all but the coasters and Danse Macabre are available. It is insanity that my kid could ride the Teacups there but not at Towers (or Europa in interest of fairness), let alone the Rapids or their giant Pirate Ship.

Could it be a possibility depending on model that the coaster won't have a height requirement?

Dino Chase has no height requirement and only requires them to be a year old.

Just putting it out there 🤔

Just checked Legoland site. Claims a 0.9m min restriction on Dino Coaster. It COULD be a coaster sans height restriction but it's unlikely.

It's why you have multiple to compliment the other its not the first time multiple coasters are in a kids area.

Its a bit like how Dragon at Legoland Windsor needed support on busy days so Minifigure Speedway helped it out spread the queues out more

Fair enough. Though I find it unlikely that Merlin will have something similar in place given history.

Dragon is the big coaster at Legoland so its not a great comparison. And Towers as mentioned have done coasters next to each other and they still all have stupidly long queues.

Its just a weird addition that seems to ignore the flaws within the park currently.

They have long queues because the park is busier than most also they all have the capacites providing all trains are running to deal with the crowds.

Always complaining get a brand new ride complain, no investment complain, retheme complain Alton can't win anymore whatever they do people will complain

@Hid I think your logic would be sound if it wasn’t replacing something else.

If this coaster were being added on empty land, I think the reaction would be more positive. But because it’s replacing a staple family attraction with no height restriction to add something that the area already has, it’s diluting variety within the area and seems like an odd addition.
