I have wonder which I'm sure I've mentioned that they pushed back PH in order to kill off three birds with one stone in which not only get the ride built but also retheme TWODW (surely that IP doesn't have long to live if there is a year limit on like with Charlie?) But also do something with the Dungeons building which would all help create a much larger area to tie in with PH.
I suspect that they might have had it in the back of their mind Universal was coming and held PH off to see what might happen and the fact Universal is happening means that they know that they'll have to spend big in order to compete as in a whole package idea as what Katanga Canyon and Gloomy Wood were in 1992 which were to compete with DLP prior before opening so history might repeat here maybe?
I hope your right.
The potential of the area remains enormous.
Large generic quick service restaurant
Dungeons - Existing potential 1000pph boat ride with further space inside.
4D cinema - Existing theatre space suitable for stage show or cinema setup
Gangsta Granny - Modern family dark ride system (maybe due for replacement after 8/10 year agreement)
Existing Nickelodeon building - Empty indoor space could be food and beverage offer (would make good coffee shop)
Driving school - Movable children’s attraction
Existing former Peugeot building - single story building which would make a good retail space
Towers ruins background and entrance portal through towers wall.
Project Horizon building - large standalone building suitable for a significant indoor roller coaster, which doesn’t currently exist at the resort
On top of all that is MMM Studio space that may be available. But there should more than enough opportunity in the items mentioned above to make a great area. And finally finally make an area that sticks. That isn’t Universal, distinctly British, distinctly unique, distinctly Alton.
