Lots of press articles citing that work has finally begun today. No images to accompany it other than the usual churn out of concept art, however. Although, there is a very satisfying video now of EventCity being demolished. Good riddance.
Given the camera's location on the Palazzo tower, I suspect the whole thing will be timelapsed.

A public consultation is now live regarding several design changes that have been proposed before construction starts.
2020 Proposal:
2023 Proposal:

The confirmation of the multi-storey car park is one of the biggest key takeaways. I was concerned that given the limited amount of parking nearby over at TP.

That and probably the fact that glass has an awful thermal mass to it.
Winter = Lots of constant heating required = spenny.
Summer = Basically a greenhouse = unbearable.
I think the new design looks a lot better anyway, looks to have more greenery situated around the building too!

The amended design has been approved by Trafford Council, and Therme have now appointed a UK CEO in the form of Professor David Russell. Construction is set to start in the next couple of months and is to be completed before the end of 2025. New images show that the interior doesn't quite look as tranquil as the previous concepts did, and there has been a radical overhaul to the external spaces as well:

This is true but I also suspect the reduction in glass is due to rising costs. The amount they were going to use would have been extremely expensive. Looking forward to this opening.Yeh it looks like it’s been redesigned to actually be constructable.

That and you probably wouldn't want to be chilling in a pool in a giant greenhouse.. and in winter it would feel like a massive fridge. It's definitely more reasonable now!This is true but I also suspect the reduction in glass is due to rising costs. The amount they were going to use would have been extremely expensive. Looking forward to this opening.

Therme has apparently began construction now.
There were no signs of anything happening a few weeks ago. Do we know when it started?

Not sure but on another forum im a member of (Skyscrapercity) multiple members have confirmed it’s started and that the perimeter fence for the main construction phase is under currently being put up and there are two excavators on site starting to work.

It would appear that Therme isn’t due to break ground now until 2025, apparently due to the discovery of some rare orchids on the site. The movements spotted may have been to erect hoardings.

Peel are still working with site developers and funders, as of July, according to the BBC. Personally, I'm not feeling too confident about it.
