Clearly something is up with the Speedy Pass system then. There should never be a situation where fastrack is making up 75% of your ridership.

I’m surprised to learn that guests with disabilities are treated as Speedy Pass users. By doing this, it makes it really difficult for the park to identify what proportion of their ridership is comprised of paid Speedy Pass (a number which they can control) and Ride Access Pass Speedy Passes (a number which they can’t)
 
The system differentiates between the two internally, allegedly.
The ride access pass...previously (pre covid) known as EVE...(enter via exit) isn't speedypass, and malfunctions in a completely different way to the speedypass system...probably.
The ride access system broke down early on in the season, but the speedypass managed to function ok.

Can't be that hard, the whole thing sits on a database. They know who who bought Speedy Pass and they know who got one as part of their accessibility offering and they can report on the activity of each device.

Surely, unless I've misunderstood what you meant.
 
Icon queue out of gates, down path & back, then out to Skyforce. Doesn’t help that not only has The Big One not yet opened but they haven’t opened the queue line for it either. Staff saying “No idea” when it will open

Nash closed, lots of hissing coming from brakes, hopefully opens soon

Edit: Nash & Big One opened after noon, Big One & Icon queues massive, time to go for a ‘spoons lunch!

Re speedypass, they should take a leaf out of poultons book. The only way to get a speedypass there is to buy a VIP ticket. Minimum price £210

They have put speedypass up this year at PB to £25 but this is still relatively cheap when you consider that you will be able to use it many times during the day. So they get too many punters buying it.

But...when the park gets that busy, every ride on the standard pass is either "full/closed" or two hours, so you still only get four rides in the day.
Surely not acceptable for a tight tyke.

Yeah I think you might have misunderstood what I’m saying. Because you’ve basically said what I was getting at.

If they have trouble working out what percentage of their ridership is being taken up by Speedy Pass, then there’s something wrong with the system.

All evidence would suggest that this is the case now. Either that or BPB know that 75% of their ridership (on some rides) is being taken up by Speedy Pass holders and that this is intentional. If this is the case, then that’s even worse.

Everything I’m hearing about BPB’s operations this season is really making me gutted.

Correct, that's why me and William stood in a 2 hour Icon queue to avoid me forking out £50!!

Unfortunately it doesn't put enough people off buying it.

Speedypass is doomed to failure at BPB, the ride capacity is just not high enough for them to be selling it at such low prices. It could only work as a genuinely premium product with a 3-figure price and very limited numbers sold.

That said, I'd be interested to know what proportion of people using the priority entrances are those that have actually bought speedy pass.

I would say icon was 50/50 when I was there, but 50% speedypass in a queue is ridiculous. I would say 20% should be the absolute maximum for speedypassers

Just read in the local rag, (Lancashire Telegraph), BPB tripadvisor reviews have been suspended for about a week...you are advised to try again later "if you have had a first hand experience you want to post".
Looks like things have been that crap.
Three hour queues for the Big One alleged, with very little distancing, and no enforcement of their policies for safe visiting.
 
Trip Advisor usually do this (remove the ability to leave a review) if something has happened that leads to people leaving reviews en masse when they haven’t actually been to an attraction.

For example when a Muslim organisation wanted to hire out Legoland for the day (out of season) a couple of years back the Daily Mail spun it as only they could and this resulted in their lovely readers spamming the reviews with nonsense. So TA pulled the ability to leave reviews until it blew over.

Has something happened at BPB for them to attract some form of fake reviews or ‘outrage’ from certain elements of society?
 
Only the usual...train stops on lift hill for camera use, then they can't restart properly, so a (lucky lucky blighters) free walk off the lift hill...Nash and Big One.
Free bottle of water for all concerned was the only offer apparently.
Reports have been poor re number of rides (usually two or three) in a day and no refunds, coupled with the minimum of customer service, and the usual rules being ignored re covid.

I can only say the reviews, while poor, aren't in the Mingo, absolute bottom of the league bracket.
 
You only get a physical wristband if you don't have a smartphone, need a mask exemption band, or use the rap system.
The park now has ticketless entry, but you have to show your ebooking on your phone to get on every ride.
Nobody really knows why!
 
How are BPB doing at the moment? The website says they're still 11-5 off peak at the moment, but ATR are 10-6 this week, and 10-7 tomorrow; is BPB quiet by comparison? This weekend ATR is 10-8 but BPB is 10-6 Saturday and 10-5 Sunday.

Feels like the tables have turned re: hours. It's madness. Pity BPB can't just to 10pm every Saturday.

I’d imagine the issues relating to crossing the border from Scotland will be having something of an adverse effect on BPB, as I know they rely pretty heavily on visitors from Scotland.

That together with local covid outbreaks in Bolton and Manchester with residents being advised to stay local.

All of this must be having a pretty negative effect on BPB. That said, based on my experience and reports which I’m hearing from others, BPB really aren’t helping themselves when it comes to customer service this year.
