Would the company they've got to do the track be able to do work on the supports? I would assume they'd be able to do at least some work to them.

That's dropped from the £189 it was a few days before Christmas when I was considering one.

I expect a few rides to open late/close early next season, most likely with minimal prior warning.

They already had a very short window to complete winter work even without extending the season.

It was a joke but it doesn't surprise me that it actually happens to be honest. Doing it is really unprofessional and probably doesn't present the park well to visitors.
 
They have to check the wheels every few hours of use.
Easiest done on the lift hill or just before the station.
Takes ten minutes, and the quickest way on busy days is to do it mid operation, so not unprofessional at all, just efficient and safe.

I'm curious here. In what way do you think that BPB doing their necessary safety checks is unprofessional?

It's to ensure the safety of their guests and continued smooth operation of the ride(s).

That seems professional to me...

From what I remember, they do those checks three times a day; Before opening, middle of the day during operation and after closing.

Someone needs to tell the booking department ASAP. Just tried to go tomorrow and it says closed with first weekend been the 12th Feb 2022 still :(.

At this rate I'll settle for a Wacky Worm to get my fix....

ok, ok, it was badly worded !!

I meant the season has been extended next year.

You could have ridden both of South Yorkshires tallest, fastest, steepest rollercoasters up to December the 24th, but even Clifton Fun Park in Rotherham is shut now.

Gullivers Valley may well have taken the South Yorkshire height record with Grand Prix Racers.

No height data on RCDB but it looks taller.

Can't believe this wasn't big news !!

It happens on lots of rides though, there's always times at theme parks where things need checking in sight of guests, e.g. when a ride breaks down. If The Big One needs checking it needs checking, perhaps PB could improve on the communication to the outside queue and area though so people know what's going on.

I can't think of another ride anywhere where maintenance teams stop the ride and proactively check components during an operating day to see if it has ripped itself to bits.

I think it's only done before the station, the train is stopped on the lift as there is a manual aspect to the start stop nature of the ready brake release.

Is my recollection anyway. It's been shut more than open for me this year so it's been a while !
