I am probably not as opposed to a sale as I once was, there are reasons why a lot of larger parks aren't family owned at this point, this business is extremely cash intensive. It would feel like a shame but perhaps inevitable in the longer term.

I don't think we know that Hot Ice loses money, but it feels like a pretty safe bet. But ... It depends where the risk sits, is Stageworks now a 'department' of BPB Ltd without any separation ? I can't find any entity.

Rumours of an observation wheel go back decades, it would be cool at sunset, but I guess in some ways it depends on location.

The name in that trademark is suboptimal. If you can see it from the road or beach they could call it Icon.

Head Above The Clouds? Massive drop tower that will be open on the 4 days a season when it’s not too windy to operate and the stars align meaning they can be arsed to man it and aren’t waiting for parts delayed by Brexit and Covid? Great!

Nah it'll be a janky big ferris wheel where the cars invert when the wind is just right, and no air conditioning will mean passengers are cooked alive 😛

The logo is clearly rollercoaster track going into a big tunnel. Can't believe that nobody has spotted that.

Massive dive coaster confirmed !!

You'd think it would have to be operated outside of the parks grounds (unless they do away with an entrance fee) to both attract people and to also give a decent view of the Irish Sea seeing how if you put it in the park you'd spend most of the ride with the view obscured by the big one or other rides.

Maybe they could use the bit on the front were the supports for the strata coaster were built....

Not sure where it could go inside the park. There are signs that they are getting ready to remove the arcade opposite River Caves, but that would be prime location for a new coaster when they are ready rather than using it for a Big Wheel now. I think replacing Adventure Golf with Head Above The Clouds would be the way to go. It's an attraction they can charge for, which also gives people a good view into the park which might entice more people in there.

Do they own the patch of land next to the crazy golf, where the public toilets are ?

Somewhere around there would seem a good spot but if it is to entice people into the park then they will need to change their current pricing structure to allow a more affordable gate price.

So how big a wheel does it need to be to get people interested? Bigger than the big one ?

Never mind ‘head above the clouds’, how about head IN the clouds. . .

@shakey we forgot to tell the internet about our aborted BPB Open Putting Championship. Crazy golf across the road from Casino, owned by BPB, we were gonna play then saw the £15 price. You can play some full size golf courses for that. Even as tight fisted tykes, surely that’s a ridiculous price for crazy golf? The one by Southport pier was £5 at most last time I played, and it’s pretty good.

Another example of them losing the plot. The evidence for this bold claim? Putting course was totally empty, on a lovely school holiday summer afternoon. It’s like they don’t want people on it.

Edit: @shakey we were posting about golf at the exact same time!

They atleast operate the Adventure Golf because you book it on the pleasure beach website. So am guessing they probably own that land, or atleast lease it.
I would assume if they did put it there they would offer a multi attraction price, much like Merlin do with their attractions.

I thought they may have had a multi attraction price with the pleasure beach, crazy golf and Ripley's . But they don't, so not sure they would do it with a wheel either.

The issue with the area by the adventure golf is the people on the wheel would then get a wonderful view of the sandcastle building.
