Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2026 Discussion

GIB is possibly the only ride with bigger airgates. I assume for similar reasons (direct access to high speed vehicle/gondola)

One advantage this ride has unlike Icon for getting punters through the door is there isn't anything really anything else in the UK offering anything new for thrills this year. OK Paultons has its new coaster but that's a very long way from Blackpool and there isn't anything like Wicker Man opening to rival them like there was with Icon. Its a great ride. I really hope it gives them the big boost they need and it should and it allows pleasure beach to invest further in the park

I think at least on the prom this will have a big draw to people on resort as it is so visible from outside the park and has that wow factor

Yeah but knowing Pleasure Beach they will forget to sell it. Year Icon opened I was getting targeted adds for pleasure beach on social media with Ice Blast as the ride being shown, and no mention of their brand new roller coaster.

I live within 2hrs of pleasure beach and don’t see a single advert for Icon.

I saw exactly 1 advert for Icon outside Blackpool itself, on one of the screens near the Trafford Centre. I was working a lot at the time around Manchester and Ellesmere Port at the time and saw nothing else.

I live 5 miles from the Trafford Centre. The Icon still advert appears regularly tbf. Most times I go there I see the advert on the big roundabout before entering the car park.

I suspect they will change it to Aviktas very soon.

Also unlike Icon, Aviktas is actually visible from outside the park.

It’s a misconception that Wicker Man and Icon competed with one another, they were just built in parallel, if anything they increased cross-visitation between those parks because if one group enjoyed on of the new coasters, then they’d be more likely visit the other because of the increased salience of two new rollercoasters with overlapping age demographics.

Apparently Pleasure Beach and Towers together evenly paid for the double-page spread that was in one of the newspapers at the time advertising both coasters. Some people at Merlin also apparently had some input into the marketing campaign of Icon too, I even remember getting vouchers in 2018 for the Blackpool Merlin attractions upon entering Pleasure Beach too!

With the park due to open for the season properly in a matter of days you’d think it would be advertised on the website fully by now but currently with less than 5 days to go the main focus of the website on the main page is still February half term which finished over a week ago and wrong ticket prices( still showing £35 in advance on homepage when now 28-33 everyday and a saving of up to £15 on homepage when new on the day price is £60). Nothing makes sense. March weekends are on there but it’s not obvious like it should be. On another page it’s show from £30 again which is wrong with current prices from £28 on many days and £29 on many other days. locals savings vary from saving £12 to saving £25 depending where you look on website. And seems to be so many names for the same ticket with different prices, Unlimited ride ticket, all you can ride e ticket, individual e-ticket, even anyone that knows the park well can easily get confused what’s going on, what ticket they need, what’s included and what the actual price is or should be. With so much invested in this year hope the marketing team up there game this year. Because currently it’s looking as poor as ever.

I have to ask this, what is everyone's thoughts on the wooden platform design, I mean in a country where it rains alot, wet decking can be notoriously slippy 😅 Ive not seen other Gyro Swings in person to see what is usually used but im pretty sure metal although can get slippy isn't as bad, I will say however it does look very imposing which is great. And I was very inspired to create this to celebrate its creation.

Maelstrom another intamin gyro swing has a wooden platform to and has been operating for 24 years now without any recorded slips that I am aware of. Aviktas should be fine

Ahhh that's good to know, like I said I wasn't sure , so thank you for clearing that up for me =)

Should be able to drop a prawn onto dippy's head on the balcony of Crevettes with just the right swing.

Come on Dave, that isn't a spinny spewer.

Looks amazing.
