I might be wrong here (I haven’t looked into it) but I wonder if Hid means that there are 4 rollercoasters that will reach their 100 year birthdays in consecutive years. This will happen in 4, 5, 6 and 7 years time (assuming they’re all still going then).

EDIT: So having quickly researched it, Roller Coaster opened in 1932, Nick Streak in 1933, Blue Flyer in 1934 and Grand National in 1935. Big Dipper is older than all of them though opening in 1923

So in the next seven years, there are only two roller coasters turning 100, and they are doing so consecutively.

I think what we’re all trying to say is that in 7 years’ time, we will hit the start of a 4-year spell of Pleasure Beach coasters consecutively turning 100 years old.

To confuse matters, I would argue it’s only a 3-year spell, as Streak was 1933, Blue Flyer was 1934 and Grand National was 1935, but if we’re talking UK coasters in general, it would be a 4-year spell as Roller Coaster in Great Yarmouth was 1932. But if we include that, the spell starts in 6 years’ time, not 7… I’ve confused myself writing this out, to be honest!

To confuse things still further, at least one of the four is likely to suffer severe “accidental” fire damage before it reaches its four year seven year 100 year consecutive anniversary.
